OK, this looks like a proxy or firewall or general network connection problem.

The most likely is a personal firewall that is not allowing BOINC to contact the internet. BOINC.exe needs to be allowed to contact the internet on ports 80 (http) and 443 (https). Note that these do NOT have to be opened inbound, just outbound. How to do this depends heavily on which personal firewall you are using.

Second is a general internet connection problem. Can you browse the web on that computer?

If it is a proxy issue, it is extremely likely that your are using a computer that lives at an office rather than at home as this is a very unusual configuration for home networks. In this case, you have to know the type of proxy and its configuration.

Well, no, it's my personal laptop and operates on a MS XP firewall. I checked the internet connection features on my browser and was told that it was accepting BOINC input. It's all moot now, though since it has started working again, all on it's own. Thanks for your suggestions though

Thanks for all of your replies. I had recently switched ISPs and thought that may be the problem, so I checked my internet options to be sure that Seti@home was allowed to pas through the firewall and also made sure there was no problem with my Norton anti-virus program, then I rebooted and tried again with the same result. I am stumped. Any other ideas on how to get the work flowing again? I do appreciate any help.

When BOIC tries to download new work I receive this message: 12/15/2006 6:21:55 AM|SETI@home|Checksum or signature error for 17mr99aa.8520.7408.465900.3.51

I have tried resetting and still get the same result; what can I do?

Thanks for any help.

Update: I am now being told that I have already met my limit of 24 work results for the day, which i have not. Last night I was told I had met my limit of 50 results. A little help please.

Thanks again.
