Hello,

i hope i wrote in the correct board :) I wonder whether something is not working correctly on my box, i got a few results with:

SETI@Home Informational message -9 result_overflow
NOTE: The number of results detected exceeds the storage space allocated.

for example:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=1793611430
and
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=1797446843

any idea?

Hey,

i tried to create a global team (boinc wide team) but i'm not sure wether that worked or not. Could someone assist me a bit?

A step by step explaination would be fine. i did the following:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/teams/

so first i created an account with the email address i'm using in seti@home - with the name of my team, then i created a team with the same name of the team like in seti@home and i'm waiting for an email to validate it

was that correct?
6) Questions and Answers : Wish list : pending credits - average pc (Message 690969)

If i remember correct, seti@home is sending two workunits as a quorum. Correct me if i'm wrong. I have now some pending credits (over 600, thats' perhaps not much but... anyway) i think a list of an "average cpu time" used to calculate results, would be a fine thing. So could tasks be sent to computers in that average speed.

Results would be much faster available. For example:
1 Fast Box - 2 Results in 4 Hours (i know.. faster is possible)
1 Slow Box - 1 Result in 12 Hours (i know.. slower is possible)

if i'm correct (and there WOULD BE REALLY ONLY two boxes) we would have 15 pending results after 36 hours.

or not? Btw. hope my english is okay.
7) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : special system/distribution, and how about...? (Message 690696)

Hello,

first: if someone answers SuSE i'll throw with some things :-P

Are there any special distributions for math-calculations, perhaps for improving calculations of seti@home? There are some real-time systems and low-latency systems, perhaps there's something like that (a system for math's) too?

and how about low latency things? Will seti@home take advantages of such things?

heh. ty. fixed it. it was because my servers use dns first, then files.

changing that helped. (now it's using the /etc/hosts first)

Hey,

where is seti getting the "hostname" from? Seti is showing no hostname on my account page for one of my boxes... i'm using the actual boinc
