Want some cable straps? ;-)

that's a little expensive.

I just use a twist-tie. You can buy it in a dollar store :)

Plastic cable ties can be had for a few dollars for hundreds of them.

Well, yielding more credits doesn't prevent the ATIs from melting down.

Had a 4890-OC close to 1GHz for 5 months until the fan failed.
Got a 5850 now - I'll see how long that one holds...

With all the servers running at full load, where could you migrate the VM to?

I was thinking of the capability of migrating the VM between hardware platforms. Isn't that a useful property, as well?

Maybe you can some student doing some kind of social study about online communities, who in the course of those studies acts as an interface between staff and users....

By the way, one of the reasons I've been lax with these threads lately is that I'm getting tired of being the sole focus for tech support/donation queries/etc. Please don't be insulted if I address roughly 0% of your requests that are personally addressed to me. I simply don't have the time. I keep asking for additional web presence and user interaction from the others or perhaps the hiring of actual web support staff, to no avail.

Problem is it's typed with a german keyboard layout, which is missing those special turkish characters...
I think that makes it impossible for automated translations...

Hmm, another point might be that SaH is Nvidia only.
Anyone using a Ati/AMD board is going Milkyway...

I did shut down server milkyway for good today, which was our last solaris system still running. This makes me sad. In general, I still prefer solaris over linux, for what that's worth. And I definitely have had much better luck with Sun hardware than with anything else.

...

So go ahead install solaris on Thumper and use ZFS - should be a lot easier than the md-device juggeling of last week... ;)

Ok, then if you have some free HDD space try to copy all AP tasks to another directory once per day for example. Then if you found some invalid result again you will have its WU available so we will be able to reproduce results with stock and opt AP on different hosts.
W/o that such invalid results can give some alert but nothing to prove if it app problem or not...

BoincLogX can save copies of these files automatically for you.

Ok, I'll give it a shot, but it's gonna take until next weekend because those rigs are in productive use all week and I'm in productive use this weekend. ;)

Just found this WU in my list.
As you can imagine I'm the one getting nothin'.
Up to now this is the first invalid on all my rigs...

bad sign indeed.
Maybe it's worth to start saving AP workunits on HDD at least until it pass validation.
W/o original WU we can't do anything cause stock even doesn't report how many pulses it found...

Got some more good candidates for getting nothin':

423714931
414210443

all r112 paired with stock app...

Hm... If you have many invalid results... time to cleanup CPU cooler and lower OC probably ;)

(try to catch such invalid WU, will test it on my own hosts)

Well it's just 3 out of 250 on 2 different hosts - no big thing.

BTW all my rigs run stock speed and my apprentice keeps them neat and clean. ;)

But if you feel like digging, it hasn't been purged yet, so you can still go to fanout and find the WU before it is deleted.

Someone know the logic how the WUs are stored in all those folders?

Got a bunch of errors on this host.
AK SSE2 works well but the latest AP SSE2 obviously doesn't.

PS: don't wait for the "in progess" Wu - that one got lost somewhere...

There isn't an SSE2 AP application, only SSE and SSE3, and your errors are:

FFTW USE_CONVERSION_OPT USE_SSE2->SSE3_EMU
SIGILL: illegal instruction

So use the Optimised SSE AP app instead.

Claggy

Hmmm... This post suggests there is one.
The link is dead now, but I'm quite sure I got it there...

Well, I'll try the SSE version.
