I seem to be having the same problems as some other do.. No matter how you set the screen saver, it does not work properly. As soon as the SETI screen saver starts it stops. Just goes blank. The blank screen setting has nothing to do with this problem.. Also I have noticed that when I do have the graphics running my whole system becomes sluggish. The graphics hogs the system resources.. I do not feel this is a problem with the version of the BOINC software but rather a problem with SETI..

It is working much better for me, accept for a couple things.. 1.) When restarting the computer Boinc restarts but does not re-attach to the projects. Have to exit BOINC and restart it manually to get projects to re-attach and started running.. 2.) In the preferences there is no longer a way to adjust the graphics oscellation. A cosmetic problem but I would like the ability to adjust it or turn it off. Also. The seti screen saver still goes blank after a couple seconds. It is not the blank setting in my screen saver set up. The Einstein screensaver works fine.. I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP2 2.93 ghz Intel Celeron 256mb Memory

I could have the go to blank turned off or set for 60 minutes. Either way I get the same results. I have also found that screen savers from the other projects such as einstein@home and climateprediction work just fine. So that tells me that it is not the Boinc software but the seti@home screen saver..Can someone please explain that.. I would like to have all the screen savers working.

10) Questions and Answers : Getting started : New with a few questions. (Message 92479) Posted 29 Mar 2005 by Tim Kerr Post: I just started with Seti@home classic a couple days ago. Then noticed the web site said the are in proccess of switching over to the new BOINC software.. When I came to the BOINC web site, It tells you if you already have a classic account all you have to do is activate your new BOINC account.. When I click the link to activate then enter my email address I get a return message saying that no email address of mine was found. Check My seti account and sure enough it is listed there. Are you linked up with each other? Why can it not find my e-mail address? I used the creat a new account link and did manage to get the software up and running. Now what do I do with the Seti@home software? It is currently prccessing a data packet. Do I just let it go? what will happen to it? Also, Although I have a cable connection to the internet I do not leave my computer running 24 hours a day. I do shut it down for a few hours... When I restart BOINC Unlike the SETI Classic that starts automatically where it left off. I have to get back on to retrieve the data packet. Why does it not do the same thing? And when I went to start it again and enter the URL and account key it said invalid account key. I had to be on the BOINC web site and go to where you get the URL and account Key to re-start it.. then I have it set up s it goes to the screen saver. I have not turned the screen saver to go blank after a certain amount of time. When the screen saver comes on, the graphics are on for about 1 second then the screen goes blank. Seems to me this program is very buggy. And reading through a lot of these questions I am not the only one with problems.. I would think that you would have done extensive beta testing to resolve these problems before releasing it for public use.. One more question. Why do you or Seti@home not have a email address for users get get technical assistance?
