2) Questions and Answers : Windows : How do I run Seti@home and Climateprediction.net at the same time? (Message 168225)

Hello again!

Thanks again for the top-notch assistance!

Yeah, Seti is still refusing to share. I'll leave them to work it out for a while, and if they're not getting along, I'll edit client_state.xml

as of this morning (approx 24 hours later) the debt sections read:
(for CPDN)
86400.000000
176664.767828

(for SETI)
0.000000
-176664.767828

Now if these figures are in seconds, and 86400 of them is exacly 24 hours, this means that Boinc has determined CPDN is currently 24 hours ahead and has put the brakes on, right?

Is there any significance in the fact that the long term debts are exactly equal and opposite, or is it just a coincidence??

(Apologies for the additional questions)

Okay... here's some clarification, using the answers I've received so far.

Both projects have 50% resource share.(it's listed as 100)

In client state.xml, under the sections on long/short term debt, it says
(for climateprediction.net)
76023.883951
45790.595952

(for Seti@home)
0.000000
-45790.595952

...so I guess it is a debt issue, right. Seti has been offline for a while, and so Boinc is making up for lost time.

If anyone can clarify these numbers, or put units to them, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Cool, thanks guys.

Hey all!

Just a short query. I'm running Seti@home and Climateprediction.net, but recently, Seti@home seems to have taken over. It runs two WU's at a time, but climateprediction.net gets pre-empted.

Is there anyway to get them to co-exist peacefully???

Thanks in advance!

I had all these problems, and spent a lot of time waiting (and cursing) before someone suggested I click 'reset project'.
All was well after that.
6) Questions and Answers : Windows : Just downloaded Boinc, now how do I get SETI projects (Message 142991)
Posted 26 Jul 2005 by Profile Mikey
Post:
Firstly you'll have to 'attach' your computer to Seti@home.

Click the 'Projects' tab (in Boinc)

and then click

'attach to new project'

It'll ask you for the url and your account key, then you're away!

Enjoy the pretty, pretty screensaver! :-)

Yep, I've done that, and it seems all five units were uploaded.

Whats the deal with credit? The 'total credit' hasn't increased. :-(

Thanks for the advice!

Hey all

I've got Boinc 4.45 running now and WUs are flying out at a great rate of knots.

The only drama now is that finished WUs don't seem to upload.

Any ideas?

Hi Guys!

I had this same problem - no WU, plenty from climateprediction.net, etc, etc.

I reset it and now I'm back in the game!

Thanks heaps!
11) Questions and Answers : Windows : Should I keep Seti@home Classic running? (Message 142439)

Thanks guys!

I reckon I'll keep it running for a few days more - just to reach the next milestone (300 WU's - yay!) then it's time to flush it.

Hi all,

I'm still having dramas with Boinc v4.45, but hey, it'll fix itself, right?
Anyway, whilst reading through the forums, I saw that someone said Seti classic results will be added once Classic is over and done with.

Is this the case?
If so, I could be running Seti Classic whilst I wait for new work units. If not, I'll just stick with climateprediction.net, and delete Seti Classic.

Any ideas??
