i dont completely understand what you are saying Pappa. Yes enhanced will soon be what seti uses... but we will still get credit... and that credit will be added to our SETI team and personal accounts. Your testing for SETI enhanced gets you credit for that, but i dont think thats gonna be transfered over here when it gets switched to enhanced. They arent gonna reset stats either, unless im missing something?

i can understand being pissed at someone for treating you poorly. I just wish we could have talked it out first. I have no clue who did what to you. You are always welcome back to the team. I hate to see you quit us all together. But anyways... i hope you have fun doing whatever you are doing now, seemed like you enjoyed yourself with us for the last month or 2 or was it 3? so hard to tell how long anyone has been a member now. Good luck, keep on crunchin'

Incubus - I Miss You

To see you when I wake up
Is a gift I didn't think could be real
To know that you feel the same as I do
Is a three-fold utopian dream

You do something to me that I can't explain
So would I be out of line if I said
I miss you?

I see your picture
I smell your skin on the empty pillow next to mine
You have only been gone ten days
But already I'm wasting away
I know I'll see you again
Whether far or soon
But I need you to know that I care
And I miss you

(In a Non-gay way, and only figuratively)

Here is the article. I guess its not so much what your computer can do for the project, but what your own eyes can.

i hope that during that time none of those work units are the ones that would find what we are looking for, but since they are messed up we miss it! Or maybe the aliens did it on purpose to us because we found them with those. corrupted them.

i believe you siran, i had doubts at first, but its all good. And multiple pc's thru a router to join the chat would be one way of having the same IP as another user, or using multiple browsers(such as IE and Firefox) at the same time. Maybe i shouldnt let that secret out of the bag, but yeah, its possible. Project and I were both on my computer for that chat last week, taking turns at sitting at it. Thats how we discovered that because it was a practical use for us.

I have seti running on a centrino 1.4 ghz laptop. This is the first time this has happened, and i think it may have to do with the problems at berkeley? But i have it set to run based on preferences, its set to my Work preferences, which say to not run seti when computer is in use. This laptop is my mom's, so its at her house. I came here today to have lunch and i get on it and its running seti, while im using it even though its supposed to suspend it when the computer is in use. This is a big deal because it really does slow down the computer considerably, i didnt think it would, but i noticed it definitely loaded everything a lot slower. Anyone else having this issue?
14) Message boards : Number crunching : An update about updates (Message 206305)
Posted 8 Dec 2005 by Profile Atomic Kitten Death March
Post:
im fine with lack of updates actually. I just think that it should be made clearer that there are updates, because apparently lots of people dont know whats going on and post about how they cant get any uploads or downloads still. I think it would lessen the amount of those posts if it was somehow made easier to know that there are problems, or could be problems at certain times...times like these.

Thanks for the updates though. Good luck with your gigs and teaching a sub. I wish I was rich so i could get you guys a new machine or 2 to make things easier or better there... but i'm not. So any rich people out there... you should donate tons of money towards a new server so we can all be happy.
15) Message boards : Number crunching : Suggestion for the guys at Berkeley (Message 206261)
Posted 8 Dec 2005 by Profile Atomic Kitten Death March
Post:
Make it clearer for everyone to know there are problems with the servers, and what these problems cause. I see way too many posts of people who really should start reading other posts that say the exact same things complaining or asking about why they cant upload or download anything. This is even happening days into the outage. So maybe find a better way to inform us of the problems... maybe something that you can change/update at the top of each page(like an image instead of the SETI@home logo, or by it) saying there are server problems that may cause uploads and downloads to fail.

i have no clue.

830,818 left at 9:41 Central Time. So thats about 50,000 gone in about 2 hours. I figured it would be going down faster than this, but maybe its becuase some people have switched projects or cant seem to get downloads?

yeah, what size RAM is it that you will stick in? I'm guessing its a gig? and you are going to take out the 2 256's when you do it. Since you cant have sticks of different size(right?).

ricky. Have you tried putting it up on something, i put my laptop on dvd cases. 2 high on 2 corners so that air flows under. It improved my times by 10-20% just by doing that.
