Modern situation in Ukraine (and very possible recognition of independence of Eastern Ukrainian republics by Russia) show very bad perspectives. Very bad. Caribbean crisis (that was initiated by installation US nuclear missiles in Turkey, very close to the USSR border, this caused installation Soviet missiles in Cuba)... No, modern situation is other, of course. Nevertheless, a very dangerous crisis is very possible.

If they want to speak Russian then they should go back to Russia, and not try to claim this is part of Russia because they were put there 'illegally'.

One of many examples - Albanians in Serbian Kosovo. Should they go back to Albania? But the US supported their war for independence. Also in the North Macedonia, US and NATO forced Macedonian government to give local autonomy for ethnic Albanians. World history is very interesting and complex thing. And Eastern Ukraine was not Ukrainian before 1920th, when borders was changed, and it was only internal administrative borders at that times.

Viktor Yanukovych was just a Putin imitation puppet who was draining the Ukraine people dry.

Viktor Yanukovych was legally elected president of Ukraine. More than 12.4 millions voters voted for him. And more than 3 years he was normal for US.

Why would the Ukraine attack? Unlike Putin, Ukraine isn't interested in grabbing territory for ego's sake. If they wanted the area they don't want a bombed out wasteland, they would want it intact and the only way that happens is diplomatically.

Ukrainian army shelled civil population many times for this years, OSCE many times reported it. And Kiev did not take any real steps for peaceful solution. Amnesty? No! Autonomy for the Eastern regions? No! Russian as the second official language in Eastern regions? No! Ukrainian government did other - they banned education in Russian language, for what? To destroy opportunity for dialogue. BTW, on videos, most local people speak Russian, on the Kiev-controlled side of Eastern Ukraine also, now their children must lost their native language.

The photo that show building that was damaged in 2014 or 2015... it is very relevant in 2022, of course.

Yes, shows the same damage pattern as the exterior of the kindergarten.

Windows absent but traces of shell fragments is present on the wall... It's not the same damage, and that building is very close to border with Donetsk republic, unlike kindergarten.

As expected just after the Olympics end.

Oh, more and more disinformation... It's interesting, what will say US mass-media when the Ukrainian army will start attack against Donetsk and Lugansk?

Well, 2 posts by Igor from 2012, tells me that Igor changed his mind about Putin :-)

Can't you find more modern posts?
As I wrote some years ago, Putin is not good, but also he's not the evil for Russia in general sense. He works for the benefit of certain circles in Russia and he's not interested in meaningless adventures harmful to the Russian economy and sharply worsening the domestic political situation. He can calculate the consequences, and he supports unrecognized republics in Eastern Ukraine, but he really does not want to occupy Ukraine. Reunion of Crimea was enough. Otherwise, he would have done this in 2014 or in 2015, when the Ukrainian army basically was a crowd of non-professionals.

Igor, stop assuming the shell had to penetrate and explode inside the room.

Scene in kindergarten is a fake, undoubtedly.

BTW, over the 8 years since the violent overthrow of Ukrainian President Yanukovich (voted for by the Eastern regions of Ukraine) and the outbreak of the crisis, the Ukrainian government could take at least one step to resolve the conflict - declare Russian the second official language for the Eastern regions. But nothing like this, they passed an opposite law, to ban education in Russian. So, they do not seem interested in a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

You miss the truth. Only Eastern Europeans are willing to do such acts.

BTW, Ukrainians are Eastern Europeans. Also, such acts we can see in the history of all regions of Earth, except Antarctic.

As to fake or not, one has to understand how deep a shell will penetrate into brick, how shaped the charge is, and how large the charge is or even if there is a charge, never mind the internal layout of the structure to know how the pressure wave will spread.

There is no shell on the floor of the room, no shell fragments, there is no traces of shell fragments on the walls, no fire, no air wave that knocks out the glass and scatters all things in the room. Only the bunch of bricks and a very little dust and some cracks on one window glass (one of several windows in the room). I think it was something like a pneumatic jackhammer, not artillery.

Is that not with Russian artillery?

Sorry, it is the Ukrainian army who shells Donetsk and Lugansk more than 7 years already. Of course, BBC and CNN don't want make videos about it.

Putin appears to assume that he has already annexed the Donbas. He provocatively merely drove across the border.

BTW, I think you don't know that on February 15, Russian parliament voted for the project to officially recognize the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, but the Putin refused.

And you really make me both weep and laugh at your ill-founded statement that Ukrainians outside territories of Donetsk and Lugansk, but near the Russian borders, don't panic - those that I know personally are really scared that the actions of either the USA or Russia will provoke the other into a war that no sane person wants.

I saw videos. For example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdoB90VcA8E|. BTW, local people speak Russian with reporters. And one woman in this video tell that they was under shelling on the Donetsk territory and after then they moved to Ukraine (but the translation miss that fact).

P.S. There is more talk about the war in the West than in Ukraine or Russia.

Only one side has a low enough view of human life to fire at a school. Only one side has soldiers who would carry out such an order.

Yes, Ukraine. Ukrainian artillery very many times shelled territories of their opponents. Donetsk's civil buildings, schools, etc. Also, that video clearly shows (if to see and think) that the shelling of Ukrainian kindergarten is the Ukrainian fake.
BTW, today Ukrainian president is on visit in Munich, Germany. It's strange if he really waiting for war.

Oh really? More likely the Russian puppeteer playing games with other people lives as ever.

No, that sort of provocations is more US style. With the Ukrainian "both left hands". For example, pseudo-shelling of kindergarten, when the CBC video show not broken glass in some windows of that room - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrUHmIm3Xs4

P.S. Really, I don't understand why the "Freedom Convoy" in Canada is not yet shown in mass-media as Putin's plan? One more fake, nothing unusual, Western readers in mass will eat it.

Wow, the Western media generate noise and fog, intense noise and fog... But what is under fog? IMHO, of course.
1. Russia. Really, Russia is not going to start a direct war against Ukraine at all. For almost 8 years, Ukraine has been talking about the war with Russia, but Russia has not come to this war. BTW, Russia it the second trade partner of Ukraine, after China, such strange "war"... Russia moves Russian troops through Russian territory, the goal is simple - to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. Russia absolutely does not want the direct military aggression against Ukraine, but it is beneficial for Russia to have that mess as the reason the Ukraine can't join NATO.
2. Ukraine. It is beneficial for Ukrainian authorities to talk about war, this noise distracts Ukrainian people and Western politicians from talking about the ongoing corruption and the deterioration with the human rights in Ukraine.
3. US and NATO. It is beneficial for the West to talk about war, because there is no point for the existence of NATO without inventing threats, and the military-industrial complex use all opportunities that can help to increase funding.

But there is the real danger in perspective. The most probable development of situation is that, if (when) the opportunity arises, Ukraine will launch a big military offensive to the separatists territories. At present, it is not yet quite ready, but the Ukrainian army is gradually strengthening, including through assistance from the West, and over time the Ukrainian authorities will decide to launch a military operation, and this can lead to the very dangerous continuation...

But sadly politics is playing with the lives of those who it's suppose to protect from this pandemic.

Is it about the USA? And many other states also.

I wonder if she'll also wind up as being another of Putin's "casualties"?

Yes, KGB agents will eat her alive, of course.
Really, your fantasies about Russia is very far from reality. In comparing with Vasilyeva, dozen thousands of opposition persons does more active protests and nothing bad happens with them. About Vasilyeva, after her advertizing-provocative action, she was arrested for some hours, only. It's not the USA, she can breathe.
