I blew up 34 results!
(Message 266149)
Posted 21 Mar 2006 by Philip Khor Post: Whooops.. how foolish of me not to check my stats pages first. I was expecting everything to be on the "transfers" and slowly being uploaded. It happened all within 3 secs on a 128k upload connection. Thx for the reassurance. Its just that "No work sent" was misinterpreted as no work being received by the server from me. :P now I know.. |

Posted 21 Mar 2006 by Philip Khor Post: Requesting 2xxxxx sec of new work, and reporting 34 results Scheduler request to xxx succeeded General Prefs have been updated Msg from server: No work sent Msg from server: (reached daily quota of 200 results) General prefs: from S@H (last modified xxx) Now my 34 results are lost! Eeek.. I should have just waited and let it upload itself! (I couldn't stand so many work in the queue- unsent..) Is this a known issue? |

Which Dual Core? (Intel or AMD?)
(Message 251440)
Posted 21 Feb 2006 by Philip Khor Post: There are 2 options made available to me: The 531 single core 3.0GHz at US$100 (used) or the 920 dual core 2.8GHz at US$250. How much faster is the 920 than the 531 in terms out output per day? If I run HT on the 531, will it generate more output? Thanks. |

Which Dual Core? (Intel or AMD?)
(Message 249773)
Posted 18 Feb 2006 by Philip Khor Post: I hope to grab the 930 when the price drops to US$241 this April. What memory should I get? DDR2 533 should be sufficient, right, since I plan to o/c to 266 x 15 = 3990 GHz and running memory at 1:1. If I buy DDR2 667 and run at stock 3GHz (15 x 200), then it would just be useless as the RAM would not be in sync with the processor cycles. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

Northwood or Prescott?
(Message 186567)
Posted 7 Nov 2005 by Philip Khor Post: Thanks for your opinions. I'll go with the Prescott if the price is right! I can find 2nd hand 2.8E at roughly ~US$100 a piece. Sounds like a good deal. Crossing my fingers to see at least a 30% boost in performance from a 2.53GHz Celeron 256k cache vs its bigger brother the 2.8E! |

Northwood or Prescott?
(Message 186419)
Posted 6 Nov 2005 by Philip Khor Post: I'm thinking of upgrading my computer to crunch S@H faster (and for general performance boost). Which processor should I get? A 2nd hand Northwood 2.8 / 3.0 or the newer Prescott models? I would like HT cuz I multitask. Presently I'm using the underpowered Celeron 2.53GHz. |

2.53GHz vs 1.4GHz (Celeron)
(Message 184283)
Posted 31 Oct 2005 by Philip Khor Post: I've got a 2.53GHz Celeron D desktop and a 1.4GHz Celeron M laptop. According to the Synergy stats, my Desktop 2.53GHz is averaging 89 credit while the laptop at 1.4GHz is managing 202 credit! How can this be? Am I doing something wrong on my desktop? |
