I know... it is when I am on the BOINC Manager page and I want to check my results or preferences, etc... that is when the error message comes up.

Hey, thanks guys! Still not working though? I am trying to figure out why. I don't have more than one browser on Windows, just internet explorer? <sigh>

What isn't working? BOINC? You don't need your browser to run BOINC.

Hi, I just started again after a very long time. This all looks different to me now. How do I set the environment variable browser to the path of my web browser? Help!

Ozzfan is right, you shouldn't need to. At least as long as Windows knows wich is your default browser. Do you have more than one browser installed (e.g. Internet Explorer & Firefox)? You may want to check if one of them is marked as default browser (if you only have one browser, check it's settings according to the infos below).

In Internet Explorer: Advanced (dunno if this is the right menu's name, as I have a german edition - I mean the rightmost menu) -> Options -> Programs tab -> Check Internet Explorer as default browser (or something like that - you know, german edition)

In Firefox: Extras (the one to the left of the "help" menu entry) -> Preferences -> General Tab.
