Sorry to bother you, Aurora, but I looked at everything you asked me to, and I'm still not able to upload my work. Any other ideas?

Thanks, again!

[quote][quote]As you said Seti-Classic died on the 15th of December 2005 and all the usable equipment has been reassigned. You do have 6,221.45 credits from Boinc-Seti so you did migrate to the Boinc system properly and it did work for a while. Your account shows that the last time your computer contacted the Seti servers was the 15 Mar 2006.

First question is, did you uninstall Seti-Classic from your system? If it is still there is would interfere with the proper operation of Boinc.

What version of Boinc are you using? You can see this info in the Boinc manager under the Help menu - About BOINC Manager

At the Bottom right side of Boinc manager. Does it say connected to localhost?

Copy and post the log in the Boinc Message tab preferably right after restarting it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my posting. I believe I can answer all of the queries you put to me.

First, I did not uninstall the Classic SETI. (Apparently, though, it must not have been giving me problem if I was running for three months---from Dec 15, 2005, to Mar 15, 2006---with any problems.

Second, I am using version 5.2.13 of BOINC.

Third, BOINC does say that it is connected to the localhost in the bottom right corner of the monitor.

Finally, here is my message board copied for you right after a restart:

5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM||Starting BOINC client version 5.2.13 for windows_intelx86
5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM||libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.3
5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM||Data directory: C:\\Program Files\\BOINC
5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM||Processor: 1 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.00GHz
5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM||Memory: 510.52 MB physical, 2.47 GB virtual
5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM||Disk: 52.36 GB total, 35.75 GB free
5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM|SETI@home|Computer ID: 1112682; location: home; project prefs: default
5/11/2006 2:32:09 PM||No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults
5/11/2006 2:32:10 PM||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address

I hope this helps you to analyze my problem. I apologize for being a burden with these issues, but I would really like my SETI back again. Thanks for anything you can do to help me in this regard!

After "Classic SETI" went out in December, I signed on for BOINC. For the first two months of this year, everything ran exactly as it did under the "Classic SETI" with regular uploads of finished work units, and credit being given for the same.

About 60 days ago, my last unit wouldn't upload, with the "classic" error of (-16;0). When I went to this board to read what to do @ this prob, I read a post that said that BOINC started everything from scratch, no units carried over b/c old units were incompatable, and you have to begin again @ zero. Not to be contrarian, but this is NOT what happened in my case, b/c, as I indicated above, my computer kept working after changing over to BOINC.

So my question is this: is that post accurate? Do I now need to somehow "reload" SETI all over again to be able to upload my data units? Am I really starting from zero (b/c that makes me angry as it took 20,000+ hours of computing time over the course of the last several years just for me to earn the 1500 units I have uploaded)? Look, this thing WAS working until BOINC came along, so now what do I do?

Frustrated, seemingly bitter, and confused in Wisconsin . . .
