I think if you set a profile up, that the star may show up. Hope that works

I have no profile, but my star showed up within a few days of my donation.

My bad, I figured it was worth a shot.

Are there any other settings that I can change to maximise my RAC for Einstein? (Everything is set to default right now, with the exception of the 300/100 Seti/Einstein time sharing)

7) Questions and Answers : Preferences : How do I get more than two "work units" being processed at a time? (Message 278661)
Posted 9 Apr 2006 by Profile Dan Kindrick [SETI.USA]
Post:
If you go to the general preferences, you can set up a queue of work at the "connect about every x days to the server" setting. It's by default at 0.1 days, if you want more work, then increase that number, save the changes to the website and Update Seti through Boinc Manager (Open BM, projects tab, select Seti by clicking on it, press the Update button).

Maximum queue is 10 days.

Although it shouldn't matter on your RAC, as that is calculated in a different way. :-)

Thanks a bunch, I appreciate the quick response. Dan

9) Questions and Answers : Windows : Networking Home Computers for BOINC (Message 277595)

Easiest way is buy a router. Prefer one with a firewall, but one without can be used. Most have 4 or more ports on them. Most computers today already have network cards in them.

So are they pretty much plug and play? or do they come with a good set of instructions?

Mostly plug and play, but it is good to go through the security part of it, and change password and lock it down from the outside world (not allow changes to it from the internet), so that people can not hack it, and start bouncing their own data off it. Many of them come with the outside world already shut off, but it's always good to check. They all use a web interface to make changes. You really do not need to install the stupid discs they give you with them, cause it is just bloated junk and/or advertisement.

Thanks a bunch! I appreciate it!
