THANK YOU for all the help.
And for using plain not engineerspeak english.
Many many ppl are confused and we thank you sir for understanding.

Your results will show up under the Project tab in the Boinc Manager. They don't show up right away. The data is compared against other users that have crunched the same WU and checked for accuracy. There can be a lag as to when you actually get credited.
You can look 'Results' View in your account page. Clicking the Work unit ID will show that others have completed work on the same WU and waiting for consensus before getting Credit.
You can do a search in the Bionc Wiki for details about how credits are determined.

BTW look at 'Computers on this account' View computers you can delete the second computer in your list of computers since that was created the previous time you attached.

Sounds like an error from Seti-Classic. I believe I read they had problems with a server that gave this kind of error message.

Anyway, you seem to have install Boinc properly since your account shows 2 Work Unit (WU) have been downloaded.

Now you have to stop and remove the old Seti program. As long as it's running it will prevent Boinc-Seti from getting any CPU cycles since it runs at a much higher priority than Boinc.[/quote]

Ok
Uninstalled seti
Now where/how do i see results?
I see a seti screensaver IF i want to but no working screen.

Are you talking about seti classic or Boinc-seti.
I see you have downloaded 2 WU's on boinc.

Both.
Sure would be nice if all these boink programers made upgrades instead of total new downloads that tell you to unistall old version AFTER you try to install new one.
etc,etc,etc
so many problems old one never had

OUCH...
Thanks for all the help.
NOT!!!!!!!!
I need url to "attach to project"
not smarty answers

Are you using the Account Key and URL (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu) that were emailed to you when you (I presume) activated your SETI account on the BOINC side from here? If you've done this but lost the email, you can get it sent to you again from here.

Ouch. You ALREADY were on that page, you ALREADY got that email with activation info, since you've ALREADY activated your account here (I can see your Seti Classic stats in your profile).

So, why these questions?

i read nothing to pass test.
it was common sense.
i listened to ham for a year and asked a few questions of hams.
why not just help me,eh?

If you are smart enough to pass the ham radio test you can run BOINC. It will just take a little reading to figure out what is going on. Less reading than it took to study for your license. Learning new stuff should be exciting.

You don't have to be a computer genius to install BOINC and Seti. I'm not. First check that your computer has more than 64MB of memory. If it has, you are good to go.

Then, carefully read the instructions on the SETI@Home II website and also the guide at the BIONCWiki.
To activate your account, you enter your SETI@Home Classic password and your e-mail in the form on the SETI@Home II website.

Then you should download BOINC, and install it.

Then when you recieve the email, read the instructions in the e-mail , start BOINC Manager, click on the 'Attach to New Project Button' and enter the details in the window that pops up, exactly as they are in the e-mail, without any spaces at the end, beginning or anywhere else. the web address goes in the box that says 'Url' and the string of numbers goes in the box that says 'Account Key'. Then press 'OK'.

It would seem that you have already activated your account, which is the worst part for a lot of people, and all you need to do is get BOINC and Seti up and running. It may seem daunting to do this but it isn't really. The servers are running again, and the backlog is clearing fast, so it should be easier to get SetiBOINC going now :)
