it is really annoying if you are playing some (online)game and suddenly BOINC needs to run benchmarks for whatever reason at this time.

Heya

ok i have both some optimized BOINC and SETI apps running on my notebook - not connected to the web so i have to transfer over lan. so far its pretty fast ;)but stops crunching after some WUs. so i need to suspend and resume work and everything is fine for some time.

any suggestions about this? the same BOINC/SETI is running fine on my PC.

i need the possibility to transfer WUs to a remote administrated machine (select computer...) that has no internet connection. this should be possible to do via LAN / the administrating machine (that is directly connected)

thats it and normally you can let it run all the time because it runs on low priority only taking CPU time if there are no other programms that need more power.

try starting maybe a TV programm or encode mp3s/videos and watch SETIs cpu usage - should go near 0 :O

- sorting doesn't work in this version

- clear log function would be nice too

- why no context menus beside this info panel? guess this way its easier to manage especially with more than one project

- transfer tab -> abort upload should be named abort transfer - same in all translations?) as you can cancel both up- and downloads

PS: pause transfer function could be useful for lowspeed connected users as well
7) Questions and Answers : Wish list : switch and/or (de)activate projects (Message 78918)

Post:
would it be possible to switch between attached projects or attach several projects and deactivate them.
so that for example if seti would be down you could easily switch to lhc this time without all this attaching and detaching.
or if you're reaching the deadline in seti you gonna disable lhc and continue seti. (ok at this i'm not really sure if it is already solved in 4.X)

OK thanks a lot for fixing this problem that fast.
Seems to work even on my machine. Just sent my finished WUs and even was able to receive new ones without any problems.

Just tested it with the BOINC cli - same thing so maybe it's the seti client and not BOINC?

As long as network access is disabled everything is working fine but when sending CPU usage is over 75%, machine unusable even lowering priority doesnt help. And it doesnt produce error messages at all; stderr.txt is empty.

OK just updated to Boinc v4 and when i'm trying to send/receive WUs BOINC is eating up all my CPU time and usually even crahsing the machine. Have no idea at this point - gotta check this with Win2K...
