Another vote for too dark and hard to read.

I prefer the "old" site.

I've four workunits that won't upload, too... and that message, "Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down."

Cross the fingers and wait, I suppose.

Changed my preferences, too, but not the same as Maik, and it seems to be behaving fine now.

Cool... thanks!

Same issue here - been cruching fine with Enhanced up until today.

Update: I deleted the setiathome_5.27 exe and redownloaded it (which took forever) but it's working okay, at least on this latest workunit - 08mr07ad.14035.1300.3.6.154.

I guess we'll see what happens...

Everything sent today is failing with either client error or compute error.

18mr07aa.10677.21749.3.6.156

18mr07aa.10568.21340.4.6.146
17mr07ab.14071.413991.3.6.121

And others with that workunit are also having their crunching fail.

It's broke. Get the duct tape.

And the Validator backlog keeps getting bigger, not smaller, over the last 4 hours or so... 138,728 at the moment.

9:40 PM Central Time and it's still having issues.

It being New Year's Eve in California right now, what do you suppose the odds are of anyone popping in to kick the server? :)

Make it a sport to read the front page news.

Perhaps you didn't read my original post thoroughly... I most certainly do read that regularly. It says "We have turned off work distribution for a bit to allow result uploads to catch up." There is no mention of disabling the schedulers entirely.

Well, I actually managed to get a couple workunits uploaded last night. However, do you think a guy could contact the scheduler to report the work? Nope.

11/12/2005 4:52:36 PM||Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu]
11/12/2005 4:52:39 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of -106
11/12/2005 4:52:39 PM|SETI@home|No schedulers responded

Did they somehow mess up the scheduler when they disabled sending new work?

A few of my results managed to get in, at least one one the first upload attempt. However, I still have 3 (soon to be 4) results sitting there trying to get uploaded. I get either a "timeout" or "error 500" when the upload kacks.

New workunits were coming in okay at first, then those too choked. Now I see they have stopped sending new work, but unless everyone tells their BOINC to quit getting new work, the server will still be getting whacked with traffic.

With all the troubles this project has had in the last while, I too am thinking about dumping it.

Maybe instead I'll do like Gonzo in the movie "Muppets In Space" and just mow a big "I'M HERE" on my lawn, then wait for the aliens to show up... :)

Aha... should have noticed this earlier. If you go to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=(put your user id number here) you will likely see what's up. I have a whole pile of "granted" credits pending. 16, to be precise.

From what I understand, credits aren't necessarily granted until other users who were assigned that work unit also report their results, or the deadline comes up. I could be wrong, of course...

If I am correct, then the massive backlog waiting for validation will put a big delay on getting the credit granted. Over 400,000 now. I sure hope someone is looking into this little issue...

My total credit hasn't gone up in a while, and I have uploaded several in the last few days.

If you check http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html you will see there are over 100,000 waiting for validation. There seems to be a large problem with the validators. That number is climbing, not going down...

You are not alone in this. I have several waiting for validation, too.

Let's hope they figure that one out soon!

I understand and accept that but my query is in regard to two which have now been validated being granted 0.00 credit not those others which are still waiting (except that the worry is that they too will be granted zero credit).

For example:

87363183 20830911 17 Jul 2005 20 Jul 2005 Over Success Done 12,952.85 32.32 0.00

In the BOINC Manager, I just keep clicking "Retry Now" on the transfer section until it goes. Yes, I am impatient... :)

It has worked for me. Can take a while, though...
