Posted 20 Sep 2017 by michaelmastro Post: I had them both set to "run always." Made the change you suggested and that seems to do the trick! Thank you. I see that you're Queen fan - go to www.MichaelMastro.com and go to the Music Photography Gallery. There might be somethings there you enjoy. Thanks, again. |

SETI takes over my computer!
(Message 1890927)
Posted 20 Sep 2017 by michaelmastro Post: Hey Bob - Thank you for that. I don't use my computer much, so I like to let BOINC use as much as possible, and when when I want to use the computer, I suspend the projects. But that doesn't seem to help. Seeing as how I want to let the projects use as much of the CPUs as possible, do you have an recommendation on settings? Btw - I am on Mac 10.11.6. I just changed my Preferences to "Suspend when computer is in use" but that doesn't seem to have much effect. |

SETI takes over my computer!
(Message 1890920)
Posted 20 Sep 2017 by michaelmastro Post: Hi - I recently added SETI to my BOINC manager. Unfortunately, when SETI starts to run, including the GPU tasks, a kernel_task in my system goes crazy, using all the CPUs and leaving SETI with next to nothing. I also run Asteroids and it does not do the same thing - it uses over 90% of the CPUs. Any ideas out there? Thank you, in advance. |

Posted 11 Oct 2010 by michaelmastro Post: I have many wu's waiting to upload, but I keep getting a message that "project servers may be down." I've been getting that message for two weeks. I've checked server status and there are no problems. Do I need to reset my project? Please advise. Thank you in advance. |

Posted 19 Sep 2010 by michaelmastro Post: Well... Things just got weird. was studying all of your suggestions, but hadn't made any changes, when Boinc started acting up - every time I open Boinc, I get the message "Communicating with Boinc client, please wait." And then nothing happens - the message never goes away, and Boinc never launches. So I went to Boinc, downloaded the newest software and installed it. No change - I still get the communication message that never goes away. Help! |

Posted 18 Sep 2010 by michaelmastro Post: Ageless - I did the search and got a "You don't have permission" message, which is weird because it's my laptop. I went to my windows file preferences and check "Hidden" files, and I still don't see any xml files. Is there anything else in the file name I can look for? Hmmmm. I didn't know I was running an anonymous platform. Forgive my ignorance, but how do I correct? Thanks, again. |
