Enter 'localhost and leave password blank. If that doesn't do the job, check your XP firewall. Last MS-update blocked boincmgr.exe and boinc.exe again. :-)= Greybeard hi that doesn't work, and Windows Firewall is off, as I use a hardware and software firewall but Boinc is allowed in both. 2) Questions and Answers : Windows : Connection: Refused (Message 183171) Posted 28 Oct 2005 by SAS Post: Hi all, I have been running Boinc for awhile now, and today it stopped working on 3 PC's 2 XP SP2 and 1 Server 2003 SP1 when you load it up you get a message "Connection Refused" The only way I have found to get it to work is to manually start the boinc.exe file but this leaves me with a DOS box on my screen all the time, I want to go back to the manager, has anyone figured out a workaround? I have uninstalled/reinstalled and its the same. Thanks
