Kang, Kosh, & Kudos are likely Visiting Aliens masquerding as old UC Students or Associate Professors while keeping an eye(s)on the progress of Seti... They probably watch old version of the original Star Trek and have a good rousing laugh whenever Kirk says "Take her out Sulu... Over there..."

Hi Guys - I just stopped by to see if anyone here who is running The Newest MicroSoft BETA version of VISTA had noticed any problems with the BOINC v5.4.9?

I hadn't seen any problems with BOINC v5.2.3, but I upgraded the BOINC Clients a day or so ago to v5.4.9 and last night when I checked the VISTA Machines there was something funny going on.... All of the cached WUs were 100% Completed and marked CORRUPTED in Red... I also note there was a message stating that I had reached the maximum of 39 WUs downloaded today...

I have 5 PCs running the New BOINC v5.4.9 Client; Three are running on XP Pro and the other two are Beta VISTA Operating Systems... The XP Pro systems are trucking along without a problem - Nary a hiccup...

Has anyone else here had a problem with VISTA and the BOINC Client? Is there a VISTA version of the BOINC Client? I have reset the projects on both machines; Also I tried stopping processing and making everything in the BIONIC directory "Non-Read-Only", but sees to have had nil effect also.

Any Help would be more than Welcome - Please reply here or More Directly, Email me at....

I too am fed up with trying to run BOINC 4.05 on the Win 98 desktop... And I'm really unhappy with the response time from the Seti Administration & BOINC Programnming Team that I am just shutting down the Win 98 PCs until they solve and can publish the fix or updated client for this problem....

If anyone has a fix, work around, or updated BOINC client that can address this issue - I sure wish they'ld write me? Catch me at dave@pcrescue.ws, come to my Team Website at www.pcrescue.ws/seti.htm, or message our Team area at PCRescueTeamSeti@yahoogroups.com and let us all in on the mystery? Thanks!

Ian & Dad

PS. Where can I get these BOINC versions 4.06, 4,07, & 4.08 from? All I have available fromt he download site is v4.05....
