Just to update, I put dual Gtx 1070 ti in 1 system, a Gtx 1070 ti in another. Also a Gtx 1660 ti in another. All seem to perform very well.

I have a few 3b and many 3b+'s running setiathome.

check/fault finding list

if overclocked revert back to normal.
else if you are not overclocked, then are you actively cooling? I found a small cheap 2"*2" fan is enough to cool the cpu for seti, that is with at least a cpu heat sink.
if the prior conditions are met, then look at power, you need a 5v 2.4 amp minimum power supply, I run 2.5a to 3a personally.
if not power then SD card. I run cheap Sandisk, transend, or samsung.
if still problems after all these condition, I would conclude a bad board.

raspberry pi' are very robust little SBC's as others have stated there are many RPI in seti

Fingers crossed. I am using Samsung evo 3. Performance seems good, not noticed any problems, when I port mu-editor to the platform compiling was fast.

I tried the drivers of the amd website. Tried amdgpu and the amdprogpu, both crashed x windows. As for the Ryzen 3 with the Vega, there are no drivers. Amd community thread basically points to the open Mesa drivers. I ended up putting the gt710 in that system, that way my son could play his games that’s require shader 3.0 support. Nvidia made it so easy to install drivers.

When I put together my pc last month I started with an rx580. Ended up returning due to poor Linux drivers in Ubuntu. I got myself 2 Gtx 1070ti’s and they each seem to be happy knocking out units every 2.5-3.5 minutes. Amd Linux support is terrible. I built another Linux box with Ubuntu, the inbuilt Vega has no Linux drivers.

not difficult to out crunch a raspberry pi.

I have been using a bramble case from C4Labs, they stack 4 or 6 pi's, they have 2/3 mounted 2" x 2" 5V fans. I have the fans blowing in, it seems to keep the pi's cooler. I ordered another case, for 6 of my other devices, I have a le potatoe, odroid c2, tinkerbard S and other 2 3b/b+ pi's.

Case does great work on keeping everything cool.

I did a check on the E@H CUDA gpu BRP app that I have downloaded for the Nano. A check on dependencies show the Nano platform is missing the CUDA math components.
OK, managed to get the file. Looks like I will have to install the CUDA toolkit. No math libraries.

keith@Nano:~/Downloads/dist64$ ldd '/home/keith/Downloads/dist64/einsteinbinary_cuda64'

keith@Nano:~/Downloads/dist64$

Found that the only CUDA toolkit available for L4T platform is the old CUDA65. Nothing more recent. The Nano has a partial CUDA installation at /usr/local/cuda/bin

keith@Nano:/usr/local/cuda/bin$ ./nvcc --version
nvcc: NVIDIA (R) Cuda compiler driver
Copyright (c) 2005-2018 NVIDIA Corporation
Built on Sun_Sep_30_21:09:22_CDT_2018
Cuda compilation tools, release 10.0, V10.0.166
keith@Nano:/usr/local/cuda/bin$

But doesn't have the libcufft.so or libcudart.so math libraries needed to crunch on the Nano. Not sure how to go about getting them other than to install the full CUDA65 toolkit which may break the existing CUDA10 installation.

did you look here /usr/local/cuda/targets/aarch64-linux/lib

I doubt that, the integrated intel graphics on the NUC suck. That is why a cheaper system with a low end graphics dumps all over the NUC.

I watch this Jetson channel on YouTube. He says, yes it works with the usb, but it is throttled. I ordered my power and fan from amazon, they ship quickly. Default is powered by usb straight from the box. To use the barrel Jack you need a jumper.

I got my Jetson Nano yesterday. You need a 5v 4a barrel Jack, and I went with the 40x40x10 5 volt noctau fan. Plugs in the fan pins on the board with no modifications needed.

I found a EVGA GTX 1080 for $85 on ebay used. the guy had 5, so I think that is a bargain. In the meantime I have a Geforce 710, and the drivers were easy to install.
