Hello Eric, hello All

now the hardware goes and the Seti farewell gets something final. Seti@Home has been an essential part of my life.
Countless hours in front of the PC and the configuration files. I learned a lot through SETI and I can continue to use that knowledge today.

Thanks to the whole team for letting us be part of this great adventure.

Greetings, Klaus

Hello All,
it's a surprise - but not unexpected. Thank you for allowing me to take part in this great project. I have learned a lot and a life without Seti is possible, but ... also necessary. We live in exciting times. It goes forward. Thanks to all the staff and to the great community here! Regards Klaus

All Linux hosts are here without a job. I have reset BOINC at my last Win computer. He got 70 tasks without any problems and now needs twice the time per WU. I think it is time to finally optimize the clients. For all operating systems! We hav'nt money to throw it out the window. Merry Christmas to all Setians!

Hello Keith, that's very interesting what you write. Thank you for the informations. The energy industry is on the move. The coming times will be exciting. I changed my behavior to consume energy. Seti counts only with solar power, which I generate myself. At night the computers are switched off. Everyone has to do something if the energy turnaround is to succeed. This is my personal opinion.

Thanks, to the Seti team. I would suggest that we all make a donation according to the occasion. We want to research again for 20 years and reach the goal. Greetings from Germany - Klaus

Hi Eric,
could you set up a donation function Paypal. Donating via third party is not an option for me. l know that many members of Europe and the world want it that way. Therefore, it could be an great advantage for the project to set up that. Greetings, Klaus

"My five computers runs approximately 5100W here. Winter and summer the worst for power bill. Winter not enough sunshine for solar to offset and summer not enough solar to offset A/C usage."

wow - that is consumption? i have 2 hosts with 3 NVIDIA 1050 Ti on Linux - and all in all 220 W consumption buffered with a PV-System.
have a nice day - Klaus

Hello All,

It's crazy. I had the same problem here last week. Seti GPU was changed from Cuda 80 to Cuda 90. It was necessary to change the graphics driver as well. The procedures I executed identically on 2 different computers. On the first computer is all OK - on the second computer, I have the error that the CL-GPU applications are not running. Astropulse not and also Einstein @ Home etc. I could not find the error and completely reinstalled the system. Same drivers and clients. Now the system is running correctly. The ways of God and IT are unfathomable.

The lighthouse project of distributed computing - Seti - limp as a sick horse - stutters and paralyzes. Tow from one potion to the next and faints regularly. What can we do for you? You already have money, hardware and my full readiness from me - from us. What else do you need for Seti to become a racehorse? greetings Klaus
Enough staff.

I understand. In Germany volunteer helpers are available for such projects. Would that be a solution for your problem? Have you ever tried to recruit staff from the circle of Seti enthusiasts?

Greetings, Klaus

Some form of consistency within and then across projects would be awesome.
Bob

I would be more than pleased just to have it consistent within Seti's own borders.

Though I'm not quite ready to jump ship yet, any other Space/SciFi/Alien projects that more or less provide 24-7 work with an interactive project staff? (and Linux GPU support)

What do you mean with "interactive project staff" ?
