I am wondering if this dialog is starting in case the Republicans end up with a majority in the House and/or Senate next week. Unfortunately it has gotten so polarized that I don't doubt there will be an impetus to cut off funding to Ukraine, disregarding that it's the right thing to do regardless of "sides", just because the Democrats are doing it. There's been a major increase in Russian government social media "presence" recently prior to the midterms and they are pushing to politicize any assistance, for obvious reasons.

And I don't think the Russians are going to blow it. Below the dam it is the eastern (Russian) side of the Dnieper river that is low lying and would be the most at threat from the billions of gallons released. So why would the Russians blow the dam that would just flood these defenses.
