Thanks for that, yes...

Similar non-thinking unawareness of consequences...

Except...

This ain't primarily a construction site, and the people here really should know better... (Supposedly(TM))

All good fun?

Stay thoughtfully safe folks!

Why does a toothbrush need to connect to the WWW in the 1st place?
3 Million Malware-Infected Smart Toothbrushes Used In Swiss DDoS Attacks
According to a recent report published by the Aargauer Zeitung (h/t Golem.de), around three million smart toothbrushes have been infected by hackers and enslaved into botnets. The source report says this sizable army of connected dental cleansing tools was used in a DDoS attack on a Swiss company's website.

Well it appears that original storyline was a bit long in the tooth!
3 million smart toothbrushes were not used in a DDoS attack after all, but it could happen

Ah, we're back.

It appears things haven't been going well at Berkeley.
Apparently they went to do a test of their data center power backup system, but the generator test failed. When they went to go back to the utility supply, that didn't work either. So the data centre went down in a screaming heap as the short term battery backups gave out one by one..., and it took a while to get thinks back up again once they got the power restored.

Has anyone else noticed that since the last outage, posting to the forums it takes forever before the post goes through?
Submitting an edit to a post, straight away. But a new post- feels like forever (except of course this very post about the delay when posting...).

Actually even before that outage there were times when posting was slow, but it seems to be getting worse.

Cheers.

Well that's something that you don't usually see.

Canberra residents wake to find hot air balloon in their backyard.

Cheers.

If you really want to get lost in the Aussie wilds just use Google maps.

Google Maps error forces lost tourists to walk 60km from bogged car in Cape York.

It's guaranteed to get you off the beaten track by miles.

Buy a proper current road map people, they're not that hard to use. ;-)

Cheers.

Sounds no different than people getting lost in the Western remote parts of the US relying on Google or Apple maps on their dumb smart phones... Just do a WWW search - maybe not use Google for search.
