Donald Trump has complied with a court order to take down nine social media and website posts which a New York judge deemed had broken a gag order in his hush money trial.

The former US President was reprimanded Judge Juan Merchan, fined for contempt of court and warned he could face jail for repeatedly breaking a “gag order”.

He was told that he had to remove seven post from his Truth Social social media account and two from a website by 2.15pm, Tuesday (4.15am AEST Wednesday). When the deadline came the posts were gone.

But Mr Trump was not happy, adding a new post online railing at the Judge....

I suspect he wants to spend a few hours to a week in jail for violating the gag order. I'm sure he could milk his gullible for several millions of dollars. I am sure he does not want pretrial confinement as that would last well past the next inauguration date as it would not end until after his last trial concluded.

Also if convicted in this election interference trial he becomes a convicted felon. That means he would lose the ability to even vote for himself. If things were normal it should also bar him from running but with him appointing 3 supreme court justices I'm sure they will block any attempt to prevent him being on the ballot no matter how legally sound or required.

Thus it's all down to timing - his conviction & consequent incarceration needs to be timed such that his cronies have no chance to get him out in time for him to either vote or stand for election, but also needs to be timed such the the Supremely Rigged Court has no chance of getting in the way of justice being done.

Donald clearly doesn't read the Washington Post. Last December Godwin himself explained that he thinks comparisions of Trump with Hitler are appropriate.

Obviously not enough for him to notice, so why not escalating fines - $1000 for the first breach, an additional $2000 for the second breach, and an extra $4000 for the third breach and so on, a grand total so far of $1023000 - now that might make him think about step 11 in the series, which my envelope suggests wold be $1024000 extra, or maybe stop fines at that point ad a nice gentle 90 days of penile solitude (again doubling and cumulative if he manages to breach the order for the 12th time).

The law, something that the defendant disregards, only permits a $1000 fine and/or up to 30 days confinement. The defendant wants to go to jail so he can milk his base for a huge free money payout.
