Bald Eagles Attack Idaho Farm, Kill 54 of Farmers Sheep
A large eagle nest has been on his property for over 20 years, but the birds have never had an effect on his farming process. As of right now, the nest provides a home to two adults and at least two baby eaglets.

That's rather unusual...

Are the eagles being overly protective of their nest area??

Or is there something else to the story...?

See Herman Melville, "Moby Dick" and Collodi, "Pinocchio" for similar tales.

Our mouse plague here that's been causing many farmers and the residents of many country towns out west headaches over many months has now forced the closure of a correctional facility.

Prisoners, staff moved from Wellington Correctional Centre amid mouse plague.

Cheers.

Tasmanian devils devastate penguin population on Australian island
Someone didn't think this one through.
Put Tasmanian Devils on remote island to ensure survival because of a deadly facial cancer killing them off at home.
Shortly after the 3,000 breeding pairs of little Penguins on the island disappeared.

Sheeesh!... Just repeating the Australian history of convicts settlers, then rabbits, followed by toads, and...

(Are rats and mice included in that list?)

(No-morals commercial) "Genetically Modified Organisms" next?

What is that nursery rhyme about what a little old lady ate?...

History repeats due to ignorance and lack of care and lack of forethought... Repeatedly.

Where are the scientists when needed?! (Shame they got defunded...)

Excellent! Thanks for that.

Quite a slap in the face for the fishy and fraudulent 'Environmental Assessment'...

And very good that some people do care about our environment...

Watch ‘terrified’ cottonmouth snake’s quirky move to dodge predator in North Carolina

The male Cottonmouth was probably on a King snake's lunch menu.
The recording, shared June 11 on Facebook, shows the viper going so fast it actually tumbled over itself.

But that’s not the quirkiest part. Closer inspection of the video reveals the venomous snake dispensed with slithering and started sliding like a garden hose.

Currently not much is known about this deadly outbreak.
Gruesome Mystery Illness Coursing Through Wild Bird Population in East; Don't Look at Their Eyes
In late May, the U.S. Geological Survey began noting cases “of sick and dying birds with eye swelling and crusty discharge, as well as neurological signs” but asserted that “no definitive cause of death is identified at this time,”

Leave the gators alone. Photos on Facebook draw game wardens’ attention in Fort Worth
State game wardens have confirmed they are investigating whether an 11-foot alligator was killed unlawfully this month in one of several crazy gator photos supposedly posted to Facebook from Lake Worth or Eagle Mountain Lake.

... This isn’t Florida, but news reports of gators in the Trinity go back as far as the early days of Fort Worth.

Here is the No. 1 rule:
Leave the gators alone.

If you see a big gator, that’s good news.

Leave the Dolphin alone!
Human Interactions Could Be Fatal for a Texas Dolphin
Over the past year the public has become more and more interested in the animal—even showing up to swim with, ride, jump on, and pet the dolphin. They are sharing their experiences and interactions via social media, encouraging others to go out and interact with the animal as well. These actions could be dangerous—even fatal—for the dolphin.

Very good!

And that's far more 'eco' than a bored has-been rally driver tearing around on a grass-cutter tractor!

Often, 'fast' is far from in any way being 'best'.

Endangered condors trash home of California mom
"Over the weekend ~15 California condors descended on my [mom's] house and absolutely trashed her deck. They still haven’t left. It sucks but also this is unheard of, [there are] only 160 of these birds flying free in the state and a flock of them decided to start a war with my mom," she wrote on Tuesday.
