True story to be released.

No longer in the shadows, Pentagon’s UFO unit will make some findings public

Despite Pentagon statements that it disbanded a once-covert program to investigate unidentified flying objects, the effort remains underway — renamed and tucked inside the Office of Naval Intelligence, where officials continue to study mystifying encounters between military pilots and unidentified aerial vehicles.

Eric W. Davis, an astrophysicist who worked as a subcontractor and then a consultant for the Pentagon UFO program since 2007, said that, in some cases, examination of the materials had so far failed to determine their source and led him to conclude, “We couldn’t make it ourselves.”

What does everyone think??

Dr. Eric W. Davis, PhD. (Astrophysics, University of Arizona, 1991) implies that materials in the custody of the United States military is from an extraterrestrial civilization. It is apparently supposed to be from the space vessels of such a civilization, which traveled to Earth. This is, of course, a very large claim, in need of substantiation.

I welcome any information that the Pentagon UFO/UAP group or Naval Intelligence is reportedly preparing to release , which would support Dr. Davis' remarks. Even the possibility that this will occur strikes me as remarkable, and that is putting it very mildly. The question of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations is a very large and important one in itself. The idea that, in addition, we are visited by such civilizations is in a truly world-shaking category, all by itself.

What I think is that he was teasing the UFO nuts with mentioning "Material" which is nothing but a set of file folders with all of the sighting report. When He says we couldn't make it ourselves he probably meant the the reports of instantaneous acceleration couldn't be achieved by us here on Earth.

So here are the questions not being discussed in the light of these sightings suggested to be from another planet:

Where are they from
How did they go faster than the speed of light.
Why weren't there sonic booms and so on.
if they were close enough to travel here then why haven't we heard them on their home planet after 50 years of listening.
Not a one has crashed
There is no artifact whatsoever from these claims.

Well, I think that we must crawl before we can walk! before we can learn where a supposed race of extraterrestrial came from, or how their technology works, we must establish that we have firm evidence that they exist, and have visited Earth.

As for crashes, I believe the claim says that some vessel or machine of theirs is reputed to have done just that. This is apparently how at least some of alleged debris is supposed to have fallen into the hands of the military.

The hope here is that what the Pentagon is preparing to do, is to produce the supposed extraterrestrial artifacts, and their findings about alleged UFO/UAP wreckage or debris. Further, it's hoped that this evidence can firmly establish an extraterrestrial, technological source, confirming Dr. Davis' remarks.

OK , I eagerly await the public display of these material artifacts. When and where is this going to take place.

So these are from a putative ship that crashed--don't hold your breath and don't bet on it.

William, they will not be released that soon.

The original story is form the New York Times. This one is a dupe.

Pentagon releases videos of encounters between UFOs and Navy pilots

After verifying the authenticity of the footage years ago, the Pentagon has finally released three videos of separate encounters between Navy pilots and unidentified flying objects.

The videos — two were taken in January 2015, while the third dates back to November 2004 — were released “in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos,” Pentagon spokesperson Sue Gough said.

A follow-up article today in the New York Times, also by Blumenthal and Kean. They make it clear that highly placed persons in the U.S. military establishment are aware of crash retrievals of unexplained flying objects. Further, that these persons were willing to talk about this to the two reporters, at least in general terms. The objects are not simply viewed as reasonable new developments in human technology, but something unusual enough to suggest an off-worlds origin.

Sorry to learn that you couldn't use the link. From here in the USA, I found it accessible, without payment. Sometimes, different limitations may be applied by the publisher, as far as other countries are concerned. If a news site in Europe reprints the article, you may be able to view it there.

Well, at least they're moving on from the term "UFO".
We were provided a series of unclassified slides showing that the program took this seriously enough to include it in numerous briefings. One slide says one of the program’s tasks was to “arrange for access to data/reports/materials from crash retrievals of A.A.V.’s,” or advanced aerospace vehicles.
Our sources told us that “A.A.V.” does not refer to vehicles made in any country — not Russian or Chinese — but is used to mean technology in the realm of the truly unexplained. They also assure us that their briefings are based on facts, not belief.

Here is a long interview, one hour, with the authors of the article Ralph Blumenthal & Leslie Kean that NYT published.

The only such artifacts were from high altitude balloons that we used to spy on the Russians by listening for atomic tests.
The balloons had a silvery mesh cloth to keep down the heating from the sun. When the balloons rose high enough they would eventually fail and fall to Earth.
Also --why the wait and why the mystery and Mumbo Jumbo? Where are the high resolution photographs.

This nonsense was put to bed decades ago.

Well sir, you are apparently referring to one, widely disputed, explanation of one alleged case of UFO/UAP crash retrieval, namely the one that is supposed to have occurred in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. It's not clear that that the Pentagon and Naval Intelligence are currently concerning themselves with a matter that occurred well over 70 years ago.

If they were, they'd pretty obviously have the mundane explanation already offered by the military. Either they'd accept that explanation, and there would be no mystery to solve, as far as they're concerned, or they'd question that explanation, and would presumably have good cause for doing so.

here you go. Why all the mystery over some surmised disclosure--lets get on with it and see what they have and are gushing coyly over.

Well maybe we will see some more "alien" debris in Roswell, New Mexico.

Pentagon Has ‘Off-World Vehicles Not Made on This Earth’

The Pentagon's on-and-off-again, once-covert UFO program is decidedly back on—and will soon reveal some of its findings to the public.
An astrophysicist who consulted on the UFO program confirms the government possesses materials from “off-world vehicles not made on this earth.”
The news comes on the heels of the Navy's official release of three notorious UFO videos.

Naval Intelligence is reportedly the organization now dealing with these UAP/UFO matters for the military. While its existence is not classified, the information with which it deals certainly is.

They are duty-bound to not release anything which might reveal secure military techniques or abilities, which might be of use to an adversary. This could very well include the means that were used to detect and recover unexplained flying objects, or parts thereof. It might also involve information of a technical nature, learned from the examination of the recovered materials.

Given this new military initiative to share information about recovered UAP/ UFOs with the public, I look forward to any new information that the military is able to reveal, just as soon as this is prudently possible.

Pentagon Reportedly to Launch UFO Task Force

The Pentagon is forming a new task force to investigate UFOs that have been observed by U.S. military aircraft, reports say, in response to longstanding concerns about unidentified aircraft that have been observed flying over military bases. Determining whether the crafts are operated by troublesome Earthlings or curious extraterrestrials will be a central concern of the task force. Earlier this year, the Pentagon released three short videos showing U.S. aircraft encountering such phenomena, while service members were recorded reacting in awe at how quickly the objects were moving. Donald Trump in April called the footage a “hell of a video” and told Reuters he wondered “if it’s real.” The Pentagon had previously studied recordings of aerial encounters with unknown objects as part of a program that ran from 2007 to 2012.
