Something to save for posterity: Apparently the last crunched AP tape: 27mr20ab 50.20 GB at least is what the SSP tells and there are no more new tapes DL to split for AP at this time. Now we need to wait to see what will be the last MB crunched Tape? |

Something to save for posterity: I was wrong, a new tape 27mr20ac 50.20 GB was mounted. Will be this the last for AP split? |

I am still gettting some SETI@home tasks on a Linux Virtual Machine enlisted in SU. None on a BOINC Linux laptop, only Einstein@home. Tullio |

They're on an automatic feed - they haven't got round to blocking it yet! It would have been neater for the eventual restart if they had decided to stop after the final 31 March tape from Arecibo. Would have given me a better chance of reaching 200M credits, too :-) |

How can you tell when/how the new tapes are added? Checked one of my stations here, it has some of the 27's but most are 21-26 numbered units Even have this one: Application SETI@home v8 8.00 (cuda50) Name 04fe20aa.8402.1294.10.37.142.vlar State Ready to start Received 3/31/2020 00:16:21 Report deadline 5/23/2020 05:16:01 Resources 0.0775 CPUs + 1 NVIDIA GPU Estimated computation size 183,887 GFLOPs Executable setiathome_8.00_windows_intelx86__cuda50.exe Historian for the Defunct Riviera Hotel and Casino, Former Classic Seti@home user for Team Art Bell. I just follow that on the SSP: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_server_status.php look in the Splitter status. The questions now are: - Will they mount tapes form March 28 thru 31? Or that`s from March 27 are the last ones? - At what hours the shutdown festivities begins? |

Wow, 20 million results and counting for validation. Wonder how long that will take when it shuts down? edit: Does this mean I have a work unit from September 24th 2011? 24se11ab.23114.12746.5.32.132 Historian for the Defunct Riviera Hotel and Casino, Former Classic Seti@home user for Team Art Bell. The data was collected on 2011, and first analysed soon after. For the last year or so a lot of old data has been re-analysed for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that the newer applications use a number of different and improved signal detection algorithms than were around at the time of first analysis. The last stars are still shinning but soon will start to death too. And the SetiVerse as we know will end on a cold and darkness eternity. We could only hope someday another big bang happenings and a new SetiVerse could start full of live & brightness. |

I'm going to miss S@H. Every single rig I've built since I joined back in 1999 has been spec'd with S@H in mind. |

just popping in to say HI. I hope to see you on other boards. It has been fun chatting with you all. Thanks for all the questions you answered. I'll probably hang out for a few more days until the last of my seti WUs are done, and I switch over to something else. edit: just adding a toast to the seti team from me (in Milliways) |

Gazing at the fading lights. Recalling this 21 year ride. Learning a real lot about PC optimisation around here. Getting to know a lot of silly but jolly people in these boards. Seeing the ship almost sinking and then rise again. It was a pleasant ride for a considerable piece of my life. See you still for a while in these lines. Crunch on! And let's hope we find some"one" calling home! Cheers, Sleepy P.S.- And the last one switch off the light and close the door, please! |

The last day of work being sent out is hardly the last day of work units to process. I just took a look at all my tasks waiting to run. My BOINC screen is chock full of them! I must have my full 10 or so days of "additional work". Nope, it's definitely not the last day for me. :) |
