Not to confuse the Linuses and Linux, Linus Tech enthuses: YouTube: 10 ways Linux is just better For what appears to be primarily a Windows shop... Quite a positive surprise! Is this the year of the Linux desktop? Or have we already had the rise of Linux and no one noticed??... IT is very much what we make it! Every year since 1991 has been the year that Linux will the next latest greatest thing. It will remain a bit player in the desktop world. Works fine for servers - routers and such but as a common use desktop for the masses - it hangs around the 1-2% saturation. I've used all sorts of OSes in my days.....Linux is and will remain a geeks OS |

I've used all sorts of OSes in my days.....Linux is and will remain a geeks OSI'll have to dispute that statement as I've got 60-90 year old people here using Linux Mint on their old XP-Vista PC's just for their everyday use. Everything that they need is done just like they did with their old Windows OS's, no need for them to do anything in a terminal window at all. ;-) Cheers. |
