Newbie here .... So I saw this post https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=83830&postid=1976632 but it didn't quite answer my query - how are points gained? - is it like other forums by the number of posts or replies you contribute?

You have to install a program called BOINC see the link here:

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/

Once you have done that and open BOINC you will be prompted to "join" a project. scroll down to Seti@Home in the project list and join, using the account you created here.

Your computer will then download and process work units or WU's and once processed will return the result. Each WU is processed by two users and once both return a valid result you will get "credit".

Further to Bernie's reply - credit are NOT related to the number of posts here, but only to work done for SETI@Home.

You have work units in progress on your Android device... keep it powered on, charging and BOINC running and you'll have credits soon enough.
