Well it was a frosty -3C (felt like -6C) here in the Northern Tablelands this morning (though not as much frost as I was expecting), as that antarctic blast continues to move over us, while a max of 13C is expected today and currently we're up to 2C (feels like -1C). Another couple of days of wet and windy weather starts tomorrow before a 2nd antarctic blast is expected to hit. It's looks like we'll be in for a wild winter this year. Cheers. |

Well our average minimum temp for this June was 2.2C below the long term average with -2.1°C while the month's average max was 1.1C down at 12.8°C. We also fell short on the month's long term average rainfall of 55mm with just 18.5mm being recorded, but with 504.5mm we're still ahead of the year to date average of 430.8mm. The 1st 8 days of July are expected to be wet with possible flooding along the east coast. Cheers. |

It looks like the "big wet" won't be a big as the experts thought with the numbers for this rain event dropping fast, that is unless you live around the greater Sydney as it's all going under again. Records broken as wild weather hits and East Coast Low brews. And early morning vision just coming through now that the sun is rising isn't looking good at all down there. Stay dry. |

Things are not looking good down Sydney way as the bridge that wasn't suppose to go under has gone under for the 4th time this year. SES issues new evacuation orders as flood disaster wreaks havoc across NSW. Sydney weather: Suburbs under evacuation orders, weather latest, road and transport updates. Warning of ‘life threatening situation’ as dire weather in and around Sydney continues. Experts reckon that this event could break all previous records as the rain continues to fall over the area. Stay dry. |

The latest update from down south (with pics). Grim message as wild weather continues for Sydney and surrounds. Stay dry. |

California stands ready to accept any amount of water you wish to send our way.Apparently ATM the water overflowing out of Warragamba Dam is dwarfing what normally goes over Niagara Falls. :-O I think that mother nature just wants families to stay at home during school holidays instead of driving their big fuel guzzling 4x4's towing their huge caravans about. ;-) Cheers. |

Well the Nepean/Hawkesbury River system (the Nepean is the freshwater part of it) at the bridge that isn't suppose to go under (usually where the fresh meets salt) set a new flood level record yesterday recording 13.9m (45.6') above its normal river height. :-O It's expected to take days before the levels start to noticeably fall and another east coast low has just popped up off the coast just east of here, the big question is now if it will keep going out to sea or will it do a run down the coast and hit the greater Sydney area again (it's doing well enough dumping rain here this morning). Stay dry. |

I missed the edit window. :-( Satellite images show shock extent of Sydney floods. Now that a lot of water. [edit] I wonder how my old place in Sydney is going on the Toongabbie Creek floodplain that feeds the Parramatta River. Stay dry. |

Well this morning's east coast low's effects are now being felt again on the northern fringes of greater Sydney as Mother Nature gives the Hunter Valley, Newcastle & the Central Coast another pummeling. While looking at the current rain radars around here it looks like another low is developing overhead as a cloud decides that's it's time to take a rest right on top of here. Anyhow we'll just have to see what unfolds as those weather experts here keep changing their minds every 10-20mins. Stay dry. |

Well it looks like we'll be in for yet another wet year. First signs of triple La Nina emerge, negative Indian Ocean Dipole to bring extra rain. The Bureau of Meteorology declared that the La Nina weather system had ended in late June, but signs have emerged it could make yet another resurgence.Stay dry. |

Well down in old Sydney town they're just 300mm away now from passing their all time record and there are still a good months of the year left and they're in for another very wet week after this weekend. :-O When will the rain end? We'll get some rain tomorrow and Monday before having 2 day off before it falls again. :-( Stay dry. |

While the rains this year may not have gone down in many places it has brought life back to the outback and is filling Lake Eyre. Outback in bloom as floodwaters travel hundreds of kilometres into Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre. Even though places in this district easily exceeded this month's average rainfall we fell short by almost 13mm recording just 40.5mm (though we're still up over 60mm on the year to date), but there's more than enough moisture still in the ground so I didn't mind that, while our min. temp for the month was up by 1C coming in at 0C and the average max. is down by almost a whole degree at 12.6C (I doubt that today's max will make any difference to that). Meanwhile it looks like next month will start off on a damp note though some temps in the high teens maybe had towards the end of the week. Anyhow, stay dry and warm. ;-) Cheers. |

Things are not looking good down south ATM as 4 lows do a dance around in the Bight throwing up a lot of rain and with waves up to 10m being reported along the W.A. and S.A. coastline and that system is expected to arrive here in the next day or so as a negative Indian Ocean dipole sets in. Heavy rains forecast for NSW, Victoria, SA, as WA weather system moves east. Stay dry, warm and don't get blown away. Cheers. |

While it now looks like we'll be in for a few fine and dry days the big wet isn't finished with us as yet. What is a 'negative Indian Ocean Dipole' and why does it mean more rain for Australia's east? Stay high and dry. Cheers. |

It never rains in Southern California, but when it pours, man it pours. A deluge brought “nearly an entire year’s worth of rain in one morning” |

Oh no. That's all I need to hear. :-( La Nina: Flooding rains return as two climate drivers collide. Another 6 months of this of this wet weather is the last thing that I need. :-O Stay dry. Cheers. |

As we get a good soaking here ATM there's a good chance of snow tonight down to 900m at this end of the range so that covers most of us in this region. Stay dry and warm. Cheers. |
