The first Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory has been inaugurated in La Palma Island on the Roque de los Muchacos mountain. It has a diameter of 23 meters and will record the light flashes produced by gamma rays hitting atoms of the high atmosphere. Other 99 telescopes of similar and smaller size will be built on the Atacama desert in Chile, while La Palma will host other 19 telescopes. One can image the data processing needs.
