Well, I have Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS (Xenial Xerus) as TBar suggests burned onto ta DVD and this libwebkitgtk thing mentioned.
A new SSD HD.
I have not used Linux in a very long time so here goes. Guess I gotta go figure out how to get 7Zip installed first ??
I'm going to try it on the MINER first....

Looks like the Miner hasn't made contact with the Seti server in near 3 hours. HOPE! You are making progress.

I haven't tried any of the other ways to install it because they looked complicated. And I had one that worked on 4 machines.

I was sitting in front of the miner and it was stuck getting GPU work units again! Seems like a popular issue.

The easiest driver to install is the one from the repository. Open System Settings and go to Software & Updates/Additional Drivers. You want the highest NVIDIA Driver they have. There are problems with using different Platforms in Linux, it's Best to just have One type of Card installed. If you have any AMD cards connected you might want to remove them. In fact, it usually works better if you disconnect all but the one card you intent to run the display before running the installer. It usually works with a couple of cards, no idea how it would work with more. Once you have the system and Driver installed, then you can start adding cards.

It looks as though Windows just trashed all the CUDA50 tasks again. If you intend to keep running Windows, I would suggest you Use Anonymous platform so it only sends you the SoG tasks. Otherwise it's just going to keep trashing those Old CUDAs. I'd give up on Windows if it were me. Looking at the OSes on the front page should convince you, https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/top_hosts.php

Which driver did Linux install, you need a 390 driver for the App to work.

60 GB is plenty, unless you intend to become a Developer. Some People run it on a 32GB USB Stick...for some reason.
Once the Installer is done you need to run the Updates, there will be Many, besides what the installer installs. If the Updater doesn't pop up in a few minutes, hit the top left button in the dock (Search) and type, software. That should bring up the Software Updater App, click on it to launch the Updater.

A few other commands to run from the Terminal to install a few things,
sudo apt-get install dkms
sudo apt-get install gksu
sudo apt-get install nautilus
sudo apt-get install p7zip
sudo apt-get install libwebkitgtk-1.0-0
sudo apt-get install synaptic
To find the Terminal, hit the search button and type Term
Once running, right click the Terminal Icon in the Dock and tell it to Lock to Launcher

After installing all the updates and rebooting, install the Driver from Additional Drivers, preferably driver 390 or higher.

What Graphics card Error? I don't get those on My machines. What card do you have installed? One recent card shouldn't give any errors.

I suggest you disconnect All but one Card, as I suggested.
I think that's pretty much standard, disconnect all but the basic items to install an OS.
