As we prepare for a few days of rain here I've finally finished spring cleaning the whole house out this morning.

Cheers.

Well other than spraying the lawn here for bindii and clover (and a few other weeds) on Tuesday I've spent the rest of the week sorting out the clutter in my summertime bedroom (that came out of the house) and either packing it away (or bagging it to go) and hopefully I'll have that finished on the weekend so that I can start on clearing my lower shed out next.

We had some rain and storms here yesterday/overnight and this weather is expected to hang around for the next 6 days so I'll have some heavy mowing to do once it clears away.

Cheers.

Apart from a couple of very localised early morning showers, we haven't had any rain since about mid April.
However the forecast (as this stage) is for some showers & storms about from Saturday onwards through next week.

Revised forecast- maybe some rain about later today, but should be wet (on and off) from Sunday morning and through the rest of the week.

The rain continues to fall here, but I am getting the lower level of my shed under control and a good load of junk to go.

Currently it sitting at 11C here while the wind and rain knock 4-5C off that.

Cheers.

Only 31°c here, but the humidity's slowly climbing up (63%), making things sweaty again.

Halfway through the week, and still waiting for the rain. Been a bit in land, but not a drop here at home.

We've had 91mm here in the last 6 weeks and the grass is now growing like mad, but at 346.5mm so far this year here is still well under half of of our yearly average.

OTOH, my spring cleaning is nearing completion with the back rooms of my shed finished and not much else left to do downstairs while a bit more still needs to be done in my summer bedroom (hopefully 1 more week should see me done with it all).

Cheers.

And still no rain.
Looking at the Radar & there's plenty about inland, but not even the threat of any around here.

Well I'm glad that I got the yard mowed in a break in the weather here on Thursday and with a bit of luck I'll get another break to do some washing either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Cheers.

I got a few loads of linen washing done yesterday, while we have a short break from wet weather, and I'm doing the same today, but a cloud has just decided to sit down on us (I hope that it goes by the time this 1st load is ready to hang out).

It's 12C here ATM and 25C is expected today with that wet stuff returning tomorrow.

Cheers.

Finally got some rain last night.
Our average for October is around 70mm, so far this month we've had 31mm- 28 of those came down last night.

After Thursday's big hail storm here we're up to 72.5mm for the month here, but 381mm is still less than half our average rainfall for the year.

Cheers.

Any damage from the hail? I once drove through a storm like that, and my car ended up with pockmarks. Didn't break it's windows, though.

There have been some bad storms over the last month.
Back on the 16th of this month a hail storm went through far-west NSW (New South Wales). An estimated 400 kangaroos & 150 goats were killed.
Oct 14 there was a supercell storm that dumped rain & hail in Yengarie QLD (Queensland). The affected area was littered with the carcasses of dead birds; all the leaves & much of the bark of trees was stripped by the impact of the hail.
And on Oct 19 a mother & baby were badly injured when caught in a hail storm in their car. WARNING: This story contains confronting images. There are plans to recognise the mother's efforts with a bravery award for protecting her baby.

Yes she does.

Anyhow, I just ran the mower out of fuel before being able to get to the front yard (though that part doesn't really need it), but at least I got the jungle in the backyard and laneway tamed.

Time for a beer or 3 now.

Cheers.
