Well now that Winter is giving up it's grasp, how was Winter your way compared to other years?

For me in Adelaide it was a normal dryish cool to cold Winter with very little rain (Total for 2018 is 178mm so far) same time last year 308mm..
With a possible El Nino coming into effect could be very little rain about in Summer (Least here in Adelaide).

We have possible thunderstorms with up to 20mm on Thursday (We hope) with a drop in temps but slowly marching up again..

Love to know how Winter panned out your way!

Steve

Wednesday started off cool but quickly warmed up to a max of 27c, currently 23c with an approaching cool change with possible thunderstorms..
Rain of 5mm/10mm is forecasted followed by a few cooler days then gradually warming up again, looks like my B/D will be wet on the 5th ( there goes the BBQ )

Remaining cool here for the rest of the week (21°-31°c), but meant to be warming up during the day next week (21°-34°c).

-6C (feels like -9C) here this morning, but we're expected to get up to 18C this afternoon and rain is expected by tomorrow night.

Cheers.

It's looking like a nightmare scenario when it comes to bushfires this season.

The BoM (Bureau of Meteorology) have released the spring outlook.
Going from a dry summer, to a dry autumn, followed by a dry winter and it's looking like it's going to be a very dry spring, and hotter than usual just top it all off.

Likely hood of decent rain,

Likely hood of above average temperatures,

We kicked off here at a very warm and dust hazy 7C (felt more like 2-3C) as we head for a max of 16C with a gusty wind, but we did get 12mm of rain yesterday which took the month's total to 44mm and the year's to 256.5mm (though that needs to be tripled to get to my next driest year here).

Cheers.

After a wet start to the weekend which took our yearly total to 278mm the working week started off here at 2C (felt like -1C) and we reached a warm 20C (felt like 16C) as I continue to give the house a thorough spring cleaning.

Cheers.

It's warmed up a bit here, 33°-35°c during the day & and 22°-23°c overnight. Most noticeable is the humidity's picked up again; now it's only getting down to 40-50% RH. A few more months and we'll be lucky for it to get below 75%.

It was a warm start here this morning, 10C (felt like 7C), and we're expecting 16C with a cold SW breeze.

I'll be back into the kitchen, for the 2nd day now, to sort out and wash up what little is left in the cupboards before washing the cupboards themselves, I'll then have a very empty but clean kitchen.

That'll just leave the sunroom left to do before the house is ready to be rented out again.

Cheers.

I'm just having another short break between loads of dish washing (I should've finished this yesterday, but I may have given myself detergent poisoning), but hopefully I'll have it all finished today so that tomorrow I can give the cupboards a thorough wash out.

Cheers.

My first spring mow has been completed.

Now that deserves a beer or 4.

Cheers.

Well, the buildup is finally starting.
It's only been around 23°c over night lately, but over the next few days the minimum is meant to be around 27° or so. And the humidity is on the way up as well.
It's getting sweaty again.

Yes it is Gordon..The moment the UV levels start to rise or fall dictates the very fast changes in the seasons...

Looks like the BoM had a glitch with their forecasts there, latest weekly forecast has minimums back around 23°c

The BOM relies on computer models too much these days...

Today in Adelaide has been mild around the 30c night time temps between 5c/10c ...
I've noticed now that the stores are stocking up their Christmas stuff (Faints) the temps will rise fairly quickly from now..

As far as rainfall the NW waters of Australia remain coolish, so looks like a very dry outlook till late Spring with above max daytime temps for us in the Southern States..

From what I've read the lower SW of Western Australia was the only state to get good rains through out winter only to be wiped out by late winter frosts on certain produce..
Lets hope the coming months are better..

I'm down to 1 room left to clean out in my house now after finally finishing the kitchen and laundry cupboards today.

The sunroom can wait until tomorrow though.

Cheers.

Finally I have finished sugar soaping the entire house down, again (twice within 12 months is not good).

Cheers.
