Is anybody experiencing a reduction in RAC recently? Mine is almost half of what it had been. Maybe it's me or maybe it's my computer. This machine is nothing special, only a Gigabyte MB with an AMD A Series Black Edition dual-core processor running Windows 7. It is doing nothing exotic like you guys do. However, it may be using an inappropriate web-based computing preference. I 'm trying to chance my computing preferences, but am having difficulty due to user ineptitude. When I click the tab it communicates with the client and says "Using web-based preferences from http://pogs.theskynet.org/pogs ," one of my former projects. That ain't right. POGS is now finished and no longer being processed, but I can't seem to change the setting. to S@H. Could that be why it's running so slowly? How do I change the preference setting? Steve G. It's just saying that it's using the preferences from your last attached orthe project with the most current preferences. this is my computers current project resource allocation 25/05/2018 09:36:33 | climateprediction.net | URL http://climateprediction.net/; Computer ID 1448953; resource share 60 25/05/2018 09:36:33 | Einstein@Home | URL http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/; Computer ID 12522306; resource share 70 25/05/2018 09:36:33 | Milkyway@Home | URL http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/; Computer ID 740753; resource share 50 25/05/2018 09:36:33 | SETI@home | URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 8228997; resource share 130 25/05/2018 09:36:38 | | General prefs: from https://sourcefinder.theskynet.org/duchamp/ (last modified 06-Apr-2018 09:49:38) 25/05/2018 09:36:38 | | Host location: none 25/05/2018 09:36:38 | | General prefs: using your defaults It's using prefs from the sourcefinder alpha testing that shutdown at the same as TheSkynet. POGS Aside from the resource share (and any subproject/application opt-ins) all the projects have same common resource usage settings There's no need to worry about it. If it does concern you just modify your SETI@home prefrences. Once you save the changes and issue a client update . [/code] |
