Well, I'm having the Samuel Smith's Chocolate Stout, right now, and it indeed does have a nice mocha/chocolate flavor and aroma. I like it, but it doesn't jump up out of the glass and say drink me.

G'morning everyone, from another frosty start in the highlands down under.

Thanks for the feedback on that Gordon.

Anyhow, it should be a good day tomorrow to bottle up another beer brew where I can make use of the heat on another frosty morning.

Saturday Beer O'clock is now just 3.5hrs away so I better go and get a couple of little jobs out of the way.

Cheers.

G'morning everyone, from yet another frosty start (-4C, felt like -8C) in the highlands down under.

Well the heat is now on this morning in my brewroom as I boil water to sterilise another batch of beer bottles so that they can be refilled again and the heat won't go astray.

Anyhow, I better go and check the 1st lot of 12L that's being boiled.

Have a good day.

Cheers.

G'morning everyone, from another frosty start to a weekend down under.

Well after a few days working out in the yard I now have the place pruned and cleaned up ready for the oncoming spring (no, the chainsaw was not used for pruning this year).

I'm now expecting my 1st weekend beer in around 2.75hrs.

Cheers.

A Red Beer would be more appropriate tonight.

Ingredients

12 ounce cheap beer (pilsner)
3 ounces tomato or clam based tomato juice.
1 dash hot sauce

Steps
1 Pour Tomato juice into the bottom of a pint glass.
2 Pour beer into the glass.
3 Add a dash or two or three of hot sauce if you like it spicy.

I like Bloody Mary's, but I'm not so sure about a bloody beer.

I just got up to check on the sky, and the moon is super bright! Plus you can see Mars with a faint red glow, too. Very cool.

I just woke up from a dream I was selling refrigerators with Alec Baldwin. Moral of the story: Don't ever drink a Blue Moon on a Blood moon.

Good tip. I will write that down...somewhere where I can get a pen to collaborate with a piece of paper for once.

We didn't see a smidgeon of the moon last night. But we did get rained on sporadically - which is a bit frustrating because I can't complain about that.

I came across a word, "crowler", that I'd never heard, the other day. I have two glass growlers, but apparently there's a tin can version. My growlers are 64 ounces, and the way I understand it, crowlers are 32 ounces. I don't quite see the point in a crowler. The growler is reusable and holds more.

Glass, ceramic, stainless steel or aluminum cans or jugs.
Who cares? It's now 32 C in the shadow here.
Ahh. Just opening my aluminum canned beer:)
Pouring it in to glass of course before drinking.
Enjoying.............
But some do care...

I went in a fairly new microbrewery(Gravely Brewing) this afternoon, and tried a couple of their creations: "Feel the Darkness", a stout, and "Shine On", an IPA. They were playing Pink Floyd on the stereo, so it seemed fitting to get a growler full of the Shine On. ~It's interesting. There's a clover-like aroma, and it's very hoppy, but it's smooth, too.

They filled up my growler for $12. My growler has another local brewery's name on it, but that's ok. All the places seem to honor each other's growlers:

G'morning everyone, from another very frosty start in the highlands down under.

Enjoy that beer Gordon and I'll enjoy a few of my own refilled bottles in a few hours after I set a bathtub for a friend later this morning.

Anyhow, I'll get another coffee in before I have to go and do that job.

Cheers.

Wiggo, do you keg any of your beer? I recently learned that a popular size for micro-breweries to sell is the "1/6th of a barrel" keg, which supposedly holds about 40 pints. The keg nomenclature is very confusing to me.

No I don't Gordon, but my younger brother was using those 19L coke syrup kegs for a while which sound about the same size (he went back to using bottles a year or so later).

Cheers.

I think it could be some copyright problems.
Just the lyrics of the Pink Floyd song...
So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell

Blue skies from pain

Can you tell a green field

From a cold steel rail?

A smile from a veil?

Do you think you can tell?
