First they run a few steps flapping their wings.
If lucky and wind permitting most chickens manage to "fly" a couple of meters.
But then of course there are also some athlectic chickens:)

Yes :) The most memorable time but for the wrong reason, was that it was not quite in time to stop itself turning into a chicken-shaped lump in a snake :(
