Not IR, not X-ray, not hand held. It is mounted in something.
Something between Visible and X-Ray (hint)
Carlos obviously knows and betreger too
Clue review, Grant asked fire, answer yes.

Now you all need to ask what's it is part of or what is its function because you have gotten bogged down in how it works and not what it does. (Hint you could say it is safety related)

I said this one would be hard.

Blue light or black light ? laser light (might throw that in too)Sensors

UV Flame Sensor?

Why Yes. That's correct.

Now do you want to go into for what reason it exists?
Otherwise take it away.

Not my wording lol but..

Fire detection is based on various properties of fire such as smoke emission, a rise in temperature and optical radiation emission.. Such types of detection are based on radiation produced by the flames in visible (Vis), ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR).?

Not wrong, but not what I was thinking, it is purpose built part of an assembly and has a very specific (safety related) function to perform, which obviously has something to do with fire/no fire.

Is it to trigger an alarm in a gas furnace/heater when the pilot light goes out?

I have something that looks similar. Is it part of a set of speciality engine tools?
