That may very well be the intended result of the import tariffs. This will take back the tax gains of the new tax code and redistribute more income to the oligarchs.

And drive inflation upwards faster.

Lets see your list of the opposite.

edit] and put some numbers on it, at the moment the job losses are estimated to be north of 600,000.

Are we also addressing the EU and Chinese Capitalist's, in addition to all the others Oligarchs.
No, this was specifically about the results about the US trade tariffs and their intended consequences. US oligarchs or Trump do not care about foreign oligarchs.

If we are. What are your solutions to the WTO and other International Oligarchs?
That is not germane to my post, how did you conjure that up, possibly you live in an alternate universe?

•Volvo unveils its first American-made car at new South Carolina factory•

Don't get too excited about that Volvo plant, it plans to export some of it's products back to Europe and other places that have retaliated with tariffs on US made auto's. And the Engines and other parts will be imported from Sweden, these are subject to Trump's tariffs. Add to that the percent that has to be made in the US for Trump to class it as a US made car.

The result is, it wasn't a good idea to build a plant in SC, and it might not now expand to its full potential and the hoped for jobs will not be available.

The new US car factory exposing the contradictions and perils of Trump’s kamikaze trade war

edit]to post an item that got hidden for some reason.
‘Trade Discussion’ or ‘Trade War’?
The Estimated Impacts of Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum
June 5 , 2018

•The tariffs, quotas and retaliation would reduce U.S.
GDP by 0.2 percent annually, in the short term. While
U.S. imports would decline, so, too, would U.S.
exports.
•The tariffs, quotas and retaliation would increase the
annual level of U.S. steel employment and non-ferrous
metals (primarily aluminum) employment by 26,280
jobs over the first one-three years, but reduce net
employment by 432,747 jobs throughout the rest of
the economy, for a total net loss of 400,445 jobs;
•Sixteen jobs would be lost for every steel/aluminum job gained;
•More than two thirds of the lost jobs would affect
workers in production and low-skill jobs.
•Every state will experience a net loss of jobs.

The elephant in the room can be clearly seen in the following report. Just wondering how many can see it.

Another tw*t. Steven Mnuchin...
https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1012872034437730304
Here's @stevenmnuchin1 telling @MariaBartiromo it's "very unfair" for the EU to respond to US tariffs by placing tariffs on the US
The EU is not a country!
China is not a member of the EU!
The EU consists of 28 member states with 28 DIFFERENT taxes, regulations, tariffs...
G7 is no more. It's G6 + 1.
And the US tariffs are hurting our workers as well.

I don't think the Trump Administration realise what these tariffs will do to the world and its self especially it's (supposed) allies..
Trump will isolate the USA from the world, and it's people will pay with high job losses and higher costs of living etc..
Future Presidents will have to spend years regaining the worlds trust..

Why job loses in the long term?

If the items with high tariffs would be produced inside the USA...

No, I am not a Trump supporter. But, if there are more production facilities and jobs inside the USA...
Have you forgotten what Harley Davidson said? The tariff equates to a £1600 increase in the cost of a Harley. They know that will severely affect their sales so no matter how many produced in the US, they LOSE!
What do you fail to understand about that?

I don't think that Trump, despite that he is a Genius, knows what a World Cup Golden Boot is.
A hint. It includes feet, a spherical ball and no hands.
Perhaps "Budweiser Man of the Match" ring a bell, well to Americans anyway...

Can't answer for the US, but it does give foreign manufacturers a golden opportunity to increase their sales which should improve their economy. So in that respect all I can say to the Blonde Bimbo is - Keep it up :-)

In response to:

Well, it appears that their decision to relocate is leading to their buyers in the USA to stop buying their products.

And other industries are effected how?

Appears the MG Ones have returned.

If products produced outside the USA become too expensive. Where and by who will they be replaced?
WHAT? Harley are moving their production offshore because of tariffs on US Harleys. It has nothing to do with Harleys produced outside of the US. Don't you understand anything that is being said?

Remember the Great Depression Clyde?

Well it's going to start in the same place again, but with other countries free trading around your tariff walls this time it will very likely end behind those same tariff walls where it begins.

The U.S. economy will catch the flu, but this time the rest of the world will only give a small sneeze.

That's simple economics for you Clyde and doesn't take much brain power to understand the outcome.
