First, Putin wishes to reincorporate those Independent Countries that were 'part' of the Soviet Union.

Then...

Blin!
"Then..." seems ominous:)
But strange things happens in the former Soviet satellite states.
Belarus! or "White Russia" as it called with the "last" dictator in Europe, Alexander Lukashenko .
Even though they are part of EEU, Eurasian Economic Union, they now also make agreements with EU.

The agreements on visa facilitation and readmission between Belarus and the EU will be signed sooner or later, Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media following a meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn, BelTA has learned.

And to the Russian/Belarus army drill Zapad 2017 international observers was invited by Belarus, not Russia!

No. It is just the returning of the historical name of military unit. You don't know elementary traditions of the name of military units in the Soviet and Russian army. For example, I served in the "Brest's and Berlin's" brigade, it has been called so because in the past this brigade was been heroic in battles near these cities.

Soviet heroic battles in Brest?
During WWII the Nazi-German killed all the jews and Soviet deported all Poles...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brest,_Belarus#The_Second_Polish_Republic
During the German Invasion of Poland in 1939 the city was defended by a small garrison of four infantry battalions under General Konstanty Plisowski against the XIX Panzer Corps of General Heinz Guderian. After four days of heavy fighting the Polish forces withdrew southwards on September 17 (see: Battle of Brześć Litewski). The Soviet invasion of Poland began on the same day and as a result the Soviet Red Army entered the city at the end of September 1939 in accordance with the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact's Secret Protocol, and a joint Nazi-Soviet military parade took place on September 22, 1939. While some Belarusians consider it a reunification of the Belarusian nation under one constituency (BSSR at that time), Poles consider it the date when the city was lost. During the Soviet control (1939–41) the Polish population was subject to arrests, executions and mass deportations to Siberia and the Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the German-Soviet Pact of 1939 the territory around Brest along with 52% of occupied Poland was assigned to the Soviet Union.[11] On June 22, 1941, the city was attacked by the Wehrmacht on the first day of the anti-Soviet Operation Barbarossa. Thus, in the summer of 1941, the Germans had to capture the city again, this time from the Soviets. The Brest Fortress held out for six days manned by the Russians. Abandoned by the Soviet army,[12] nearly all its defenders perished. The Germans placed Brest under the administration of the Reichskommissariat Ukraine. The remaining municipal Jewish population (about 20,000) was sequestered in the Brest ghetto established by the German authorities in December 1941, the inhabitants of which were murdered in October 1942. Only seven Jews survived the Nazi executions.[10]

The city was captured by the Red Army on July 28, 1944. Pursuant to the agreements of the Yalta Conference of February 1945, the Soviet occupation and Brest's status as part of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic was recognized in spite of Polish protests. The Poles of Brest, after 1,000 years of history, were encouraged to emigrate and during the 1940s and 1950s most left for Communist Poland. Today, Poles constitute about 1% of the population.

Hehe:) That's the reason why Russia think we are Russiaphobics.
But all the wars between Russia and Sweden have been about controlling the Baltic Sea.
Map of the Gulf of Finland during the Swedish Empire era.

I wonder if Russia will let us Ingermanland (Swedish_Ingria) back again that we had to let go in 1721...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Ingria
Oh! Tsar Peter the Great built Saint Petersburg, hometown of Putin, there.

Anyway. Russia needs access to the Baltic Sea or else they will perish.
One of the reason in recent time why Russia occupied Köningsberg now Kaliningrad.

BTW
On the map you can see the town Narva. It's now a border town between Russia and Estonia.
Russia has done a TV serie based on the Swedish/Danish TV production "The Bridge"

Oh:) The Battle of Narva.
Who won that battle?

In Estonia they have already prepared for the next Soviet, I mean Russian occupation.
True SLAV ACCORDION is born!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqQZEobEAaI
Among the many Russian songs that Artur plays is "Bella Ciao".
Strange it's so popular in Russia.
"Bella ciao" is an Italian partisan song which originated during the Italian civil war.
It is used worldwide as an anti-fascist hymn of freedom and resistance.
Red Army Choir version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX3Q8gOghnA

The selfproclaimed Donetsk People's Republic used Bella Ciao in their propaganda.

Come to think of "heroic" Red Army soldiers during WWII.
My GF's mother lived in northern Finland at that time as a young girl.
One day she was chased by Russian soldiers.
"Lyckily" she fell in to a pit. The soldiers gave up the chase and left her lying there unable to climb up.
Her father who missed her later found her and helped her up.
She injured her ankle when she fell into the pit and had then a limp for the rest of her life.

So, frequent errors and fakes of the pseudo-connoisseur show you nothing. The worse, the more truthful. Well, it's clear point. :)

Igor.
You are very welcome to point out what frequent errors and fakes about Russia I have posted.
But you don't so how can I know what what you think is true or false.
Actually I do since most of the postings I do are from Russian sources or can be at least be verified by Russia.
Yes. Even the Russian history where both Russian and Swedish historians today agree with each other.
Blin! To me it seems that it was a VERY long time since you visited your homeland Russia.

One who left Kazakhstan is Vladimir Smirnov.
Where to? To Sundsvall Sweden:)

TRUE story Igor:)

Russia or Kremlin I would say are going more paranoic than ever!

Frode Berg, a retired Norwegian border guard, volunteered in a soup kitchen in rural Russia. He helped organize an annual cross-border festival and ski race. His congregation supported a new church in a Russian town just over the boundary line that divides East from West.
Then the Russians FSB arrested him and accused him of being a spy.
If Berg are convicted , he risks at least ten years in prison, according to lawyer Brynjulf Risnes, who represents his family.
No one in Kirkenes, a 15-minute drive from the Russian border, seems to know why the Russian FSB arrested Berg, a 62-year-old retired border inspector, near Moscow’s Red Square in December. His lawyers say Berg stands accused of mailing envelopes with cash and spy instructions addressed to a Moscow woman named Natalia and now faces a virtually certain espionage conviction.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/world/wp/2018/02/03/feature/an-arrest-in-moscow-leads-to-a-norwegian-espionage-mystery/

Frode Berg: I feel really misused and fight against anger and hate.
https://thebarentsobserver.com/en/2018/02/frode-berg-i-feel-really-misused-and-fight-against-anger-and-hate
Reporter: You have been a friend of Russia all time. How does it feel that this happens to you?
Frode: “That’s the reason why it feels like such a hard hit. I have since 1991 defended the Russian Federation. I have followed it [Russia] since it was down with broken back and through it rose again to where it is today. At home, I have even been accused of being too Russian-friendly. This has really been a hard hit what I’m now accused of.”

Internet Censorship Skyrockets in Russia in 2017, Study Says
https://themoscowtimes.com/news/internet-censorship-skyrockets-in-russian-in-2017-study-says-60389
http://www.agora.legal/news/2018.02.05/115-706-faktov-ogranicheniya-svobody-interneta-zaregistrirovano-v-Rossii/663
Today, the Agora International Human Rights Group presented the report "Internet Freedom 2017: Creeping Criminalization."
It is devoted to the review of restrictions on Internet freedom in Russia based on the results of continuous monitoring of the situation, which was conducted during the past year.

During 2017, lawyers registered 115,706 separate facts of the restriction of Internet freedom in Russia.
The absolute majority of them (more than 110 thousand) is associated with the blocking and filtering of content, as well as the prohibition of information on various grounds.
In the past year, as in 2016, there has been a significant increase in the number of attacks on users, as well as cases of their prosecution, that is, increasing pressure on the most sensitive areas.
Threats or attacks in connection with network activity were more than 60 people (some - repeatedly), and the total number of such facts was 67 (in 2016 - 49) in 20 regions.
Significantly increased as the total number of cases of criminal prosecution or the real threat of bringing charges (411 against 298 in 2016), and the number of sentences to real deprivation of liberty (43 versus 32 in 2016).
In addition, 5 people were placed in psychiatric hospitals for the use of compulsory medical measures.

- Except for some years and indicators, in general, the pressure on the Runet has constantly increased, which is confirmed by the constant growth in the number of various regulatory proposals - from 5 in 2014 to 114 in 2017.
A total of 253,398 individual facts of freedom restriction are included in the monitoring base Internet in Russia, - the report says.

Russia Will Create Its Own Internet
https://www.cybersecurityintelligence.com/blog/russia-will-create-its-own-internet-3082.html
Freedom on the Internet has diminished over the years in Russia: people go to jail for posts on social media, there's a ban on VPN services and expanded data storage is hard to come by. Recent moves by the Russian government indicate that further developments are yet to come.
According to a report by the domestic RBK web portal, Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2017 ordered his government to negotiate independent root name servers for the so-called domain name system (DNS).
Russia's plans go right to the root of the Internet. The world's entire communication between computers uses all of 13 DNS root servers. The computers store the so-called zone files of top level domains (TLD) like .com (worldwide), .de for Germany or .ru for Russia. Ten root servers are located in the US, one each in The Netherlands, Sweden and Japan. In addition, there are hundreds of any cast-server networks worldwide, ten of them in Russia alone.

And with Putin at power at least 6 years to come...

And with Putin at power at least 6 years to come...

Or until his death.
After 'Tsar' Putin. Who will take 'The Power'?

Even Russians have some sense:)
Putin is barred from seeking a third consecutive term in 2024.
I don't think we will see any candidates to the Russian Throne until 2024.
Who dear to be a candidate in Russia today?
What happened to Boris Nemtsov for instance?

Putin’s Re-election Is Assured. Let the Succession Fight Begin.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/11/world/europe/russia-vladimir-putin-election.html
And as 2024 nears, Mr. Putin’s ability to protect likely successors could lessen, putting them at risk of being brought down by rivals. As a result, no one is expected to seek the heir apparent title openly.
“People considered possible successors are ready to pay not to be called that,” Mr. Kalachyov said.
The Kremlin dismissed talk of internal intrigues, with Dmitri S. Peskov, Mr. Putin’s spokesman, calling such speculation the favorite pastime of political analysts. “That is what they do,” he said.

And if the Russian Constitution is amended? For the Greater Good of Russia of course :-)

It takes time to make amendments to a Constitution even in Russia.
I think over a period of two consecutive elections which will be 12 years.

Assuming Russia is a Rule of Law country :-D
Why do I still have the feeling, just only a feeling, that it will be 'Till Death Do Us Part.

Well, Putin will continue to have an important role in Russia even after 2024 and not being a president.
The trick is called tandemocracy or diarchy, especially involving alternation of offices in an allegedly democratic context..
Blend of tandem +‎ democracy, a calque of Russian тандемократия (tandemokratija) originally in reference to the office-trading of Vladimir Putin and Dmitri Medvedev.
So don't be surprised if Putin is selected Prime Minister in 2024.
And Putin will be only 72 in 2030 and will probably be in better shape then Trump is now...

One of Russia’s most unknown heros, submarine captain Igor Grishkov, is dead 67 years old, the blog site Korabel reports. After retirement, he moved to Severodvinsk by the White Sea where he lived until his death this week.

Igor Grishkov was captain in charge on board the Typhoon submarine "Arkhangelsk" in 1991. This photo shows the Typhoons' homeport in Zapanaya Litsa in the mid-90s. Photo: Archive and Grishkov's Facebook-profile
When a training missile exploded in the silo, Captain Igor Grishkov immediately dived his enormous Typhoon submarine to flush away burning rocket fuel before the other nuclear weapon-tipped missiles were set on fire.
https://thebarentsobserver.com/en/security/2018/02/captain-who-saved-white-sea-nuclear-disaster-dies-67
Although the heroically saving of his crew and submarine, Captain Igor Grishkov was never awared with the medal “Hero of the Soviet Union” or today’s “Hero of Russia”.
That accident had no adverse environmental, economic or any other consequences. According to a member of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR Albert Butorin who now resides in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk region, a real catastrophe was prevented by the dedication of the nuclear submarine commander:
The case was limited by a promise of a Navy Commander Vladimir Chernavin that henceforth no ballistic missiles will be launched from the White Sea. The commander of "TK-17" Grishkov who saved the submarine from death and all the White Sea from an environmental disaster has never received the title of a Hero due to certain national interests and political considerations. However, his act was indeed heroic."

Russia continues to break the INF, Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
The INF Treaty eliminated all nuclear and conventional missiles, as well as their launchers, with ranges of 500–1,000 kilometers (310–620 mi) (short-range) and 1,000–5,500 km (620–3,420 mi) (intermediate-range).

Iskander-M, NATO reporting name SS-26 Stone, variant for the Russian Armed Forces with two 9M723 quasi ballistic missiles with published range 415 km, rumoured 500 km.
Speed Mach 6-7, flight altitude up to 6–50 km, nuclear capable stealth missile, controlled at all stages, not ballistic flight path.
Immediately after the launch and upon approach to the target, the missile performs intensive maneuvering to evade anti-ballistic missiles.
Missile constantly maneuvers also during the flight.

Iskander missiles with nuclear weapons capacity and range across large parts of Sweden are now permanently stationed in Kaliningrad aka Köningsberg on the Baltic Sea for the first time in 2018.
The Russian 152nd Missile Brigade in Chernyakhovsk aka Insterburg is then fully trained and equipped with Iskander.
Then there will be a total of 12 Iskander systems in Kaliningrad with the ability to relieve missiles across the Baltic Sea against Sweden around the clock.
Visby on Gotland is 399 km from Chernyakhovsk and within easy reach of Iskander.
The same applies to the air force base F17 in Blekinge, which has an important role in the emergency preparedness and the naval base in Karlskrona, with much of the marine resources gathered in one place.
Karlskrona is located 429 km from Chernyakhovsk.
http://cornucopia.cornubot.se/2017/11/ryssland-fortsatter-bryta-mot-inf.html

Needless to say, the US follows Russia and break the INF as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofW_38ZDp4o
Russia also have the Iskander-K, which is a variant of the M-model, a "winged"Iskander cruise missile used by Russian Navy in the Baltic Sea...

It's Scandinavians suffering from ill mental health diagnosed and getting treated that has increased.
Perhaps that is a problem for Russians to understand because most Russians don't get help for suffering from ill mental health.

Sputnik, also known as Sputnik News, is a state-owned Russian news service.
It was launched by Rossija Segodnja in November 2014 and replaces the former news agency Ria Novosti, as well as the 'Voice of Russia', which was merged through a law signed by President Vladimir Putin. [1]
According to Sputnik's chief Dimitrij Kiseljov, Sputnik is an alternative to what he calls the "Western News Agenda" [2] and thinks they are "tired of aggressive propaganda forced on the world."
The goal is to spread Russian politics and world images abroad on a larger scale, and produce news in 34 countries in 30 languages.
The history of Sputnik started already 1922.

Sputnik has also written MANY articles of the immigration problem here.
Noting that maybe we Scandinavians wont exist in a couple of decades.

That and more!

Swedish election coming up in September so we will see more of this cr*p from Russia.
