I owned an A10 for several years, trying to get it to run Seti effectively. I couldn't get the CPU's (4 cores) and the integrated GPU to both run at "full-tilt." Basically if the GPU was running at full speed the cpus were not and vice versa.

I recently bought an A6-7310 (2Mhz+ turbo & 4 cores) laptop for other purposes (including practicing my Win10 support skills). Anyway, to make a long story short, the same issue has shown up.

When I got to looking at the hardware with HW64Info, I discovered that even when the Task manager was reporting near 100% the cpus were actually running substantially throttled.

It then occurred to me that -use_sleep which releases cpu cycles to allow more cpu processing and its related commands -use_sleep_quantum etc. Might be profitably used to allow the cpu's to run at 100% while letting the gpu to run near 100%.

So what I am looking for is experience/advice on what are likely the "best" settings in the mb*SOG.txt command line for essentially an "entry level" ATI type gpu that will release enough cpu cycles to let the cpu's run at credible speeds instead of 12+ hours / task.

Any ideas?

Sorry mental error. The gpu MB*.txt file is not necessarily the "SOG" file although I do see one coming. I am currently running "nocal" tasks. :)
