The Mad Abbott of Texas and his pro-life nutters won't like this.

Texas judge grants pregnant woman's request to get an abortion.

A Texas judge on Thursday granted an emergency order allowing a pregnant woman whose fetus has a fatal diagnosis to get an abortion in the state.

Late last month, Kate Cox, a 31-year-old Dallas-area mother of two who is about 20 weeks pregnant, found out that her developing fetus has trisomy 18, a rare chromosomal disorder likely to cause stillbirth or the death of the baby shortly after it’s born.

Texas law prohibits almost all abortions with limited exceptions. So on behalf of Cox, her husband and her doctor, lawyers with the Center for Reproductive Rights filed a request for a temporary restraining order that would block the state’s abortion bans in Cox's case and enable her to terminate her pregnancy.....
How sick is it when you have to go to these costly extremes to avoid a greater tragedy?

Well religious nutter Kenny has stepped up to inflict torture on top of pain on the poor girl. :-(

Texas Supreme Court temporarily blocks woman from having an emergency abortion.

The Texas Supreme Court has temporarily blocked a pregnant woman from obtaining an emergency abortion shortly after the state's attorney general requested the block.

The legal battle is a major test case since the US Supreme Court overturned the nationwide constitutional right to abortion last year, enabling states like Texas to pass near complete bans.

The Texas court on Friday halted a lower court ruling allowing the emergency abortion, responding to a petition from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton earlier in the day....

It seems that living in a MAGA GOP state is like living under the Taliban for women.

Woman who suffered miscarriage is charged with abusing corpse, as US hospitals struggle with abortion laws.

A US woman who miscarried at 21 weeks pregnant could face a year in prison in Ohio after she was charged with abuse of a corpse.

Brittany Watts, 33, began passing thick blood clots during her second trimester in September.

A doctor told her that while the foetal heartbeat was still present, her water had broken prematurely and the foetus would not survive.

He advised heading to the hospital to have her labour induced, so she could have what amounted to an abortion to deliver the non-viable foetus.

Otherwise, she would face "significant risk" of death, according to records of her case.

What followed for Ms Watts was a harrowing three days of multiple trips to the hospital; and miscarrying in a toilet at her home.....

It beggars belief in the legal system.
CPS drops case
3 year investigation & they drop it for "lack of evidence".
3 years of wasting public funds.
They should be charged with theft from the public purse!

For a mob who for ages covered up the crooks and pedophiles amongst them they really should keep their mouths shut.

The Eiffel Tower has emitted a powerful message as France passes a landmark legislation, attracting heavy backlash from the Vatican overnight.

Good on France.

Finally some commonsense comes into the light.

Arizona Governor Signs Repeal of State's 160-Year-Old Abortion Ban.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, signed a bill on Thursday that will repeal the state's 160-year-old abortion ban.

As reproductive rights continue to be a hot-button issue after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in the summer of 2022, which lets individual states decide how to handle abortion, Arizona repealed a near-total abortion ban that was enacted in 1864.

The Civil War-era law, which prohibits abortions except to save the life of the mother, went unenforced for decades in the state after the Supreme Court in 1973 created federal protections for abortion rights in its Roe v. Wade ruling.

Earlier this month, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that the ban enacted in 1863 was enforceable, which sparked outrage among reproductive rights activists.

On Wednesday, the Arizona Senate passed the repeal in a 16-14 vote with two Republicans voting to repeal the near-total ban after the state House voted to repeal the ban last week.

Hobbs signed the bill repealing the near-total abortion ban on Thursday as the crowd around her applauded and cheered.......
It's just a crying shame that it won't come into effect until after the northern hemisphere summer.

They must of thought that they'd better not push their luck.

US Supreme Court unanimously rejects bid to restrict abortion pill access.

The US Supreme Court has rejected a bid by an anti-abortion group that included doctors to restrict access to the abortion pill.

The justices ruled that abortion opponents lacked the legal right to sue over the federal Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval of the medication, mifepristone, and the FDA's subsequent actions to ease access to it.

It is the court's first decision on abortion since conservative justices overturned Roe vs Wade two years ago.

The case had threatened to restrict access to mifepristone across the country, including in states where abortion remains legal.

The ruling is a win for US President Joe Biden who is an outspoken advocate for abortion rights.

He has tried to make abortion a key point of difference between him and Donald Trump in the lead-up to the presidential election in November.

The FDA approved mifepristone more than 20 years ago and has reiterated its safety and effectiveness since.

The justices voted 9-0 to overturn a lower court's decision to roll back the FDA's steps in 2016 and 2021 that eased how mifepristone is prescribed and distributed.........

It seems that Donny and his moronic MAGA group is having a problem trying to change its stance on this matter with the nutters.

Trump VP Contender's Abortion Comment Sparks Christian Fury.

Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), one of the favorites to be Donald Trump's vice presidential pick, has caused fury among some Republicans after saying he supports access to the abortion pill mifepristone.

Appearing on NBC's Meet the Press on Monday, the possible Trump running mate said he backs the abortion pill being publicly accessible. He also said Trump supported access to it.

The comments distance Vance and Trump from pro-life Republicans who wish to see access to abortions restricted. Polling suggests that most Americans believe abortion should be legal in the early stages of pregnancy, and it is likely to be a key issue in November's election.

Another possible Trump running mate, Marco Rubio, also said that he backs the former president's plan to remove a federal abortion plan from the Republican platform.

Christian author and podcaster Steve Deace condemned Vance's and Rubio's positions on X, formerly Twitter, accusing Vance of being "sad and morally repugnant/sinful.".........

Donny just can't make up his mind as he keeps on flipping from 1 side to the other.

Trump Suggests He's Open To Banning Abortion Pill Mifepristone.

But his messages have changed over time.

How the GOP Platform Went From 35 Mentions of Abortion to One.
