More for the benefit of readers who may be wondering than yourself who should know, but I will answer.

Mark, your contributions to this project are great, but this is not a two-tier system, and we all have exactly the same policies to follow.

This is because this board is the property of the University of California. Any post made in it outside of the private team rooms can be seen for literally years by anyone on Earth with an internet connection; there are no checks for membership nor age. That is why there are more conditions on posting here (ie no swearing, violence, etc.) than there may be on a forum that requires a logon.

I told him...........one last time.

Not sure you really know the story behind my relationship with my sig other.
She gets really angry with me at times, but......................
I saved her life. And that is why she is so beholden to me forever.


You didn't know.
I found Lori's ex at her place one night, and told him that I would take him out, no surprises there.

The moral of the story is..................
This.............if I react quickly and wrongly, it is because I have learned to.
My 'half measure' one night almost cost Lori her life.
I should have taken him out on the spot that night, and Lori would never have suffered that beating. And God only knows if she would have lived through the rest. Probably not so.
One night weeks later, he came back and tried to kill her. Again. Except this night I was sleeping with her. And I took him out./

Almost did.
I came home from the bar and found her nearly dead on the floor.
I found him standing there, and beat him almost to death.
He was seconds from beating Lori to the end.

Lori, till this day, does not know how close she came to her ex's means.
And she shall deny it until this day.
But I know what I saw that day. Brad's hands hung high with that vase in his hands......................ready to kill her.
I glanced the blow off enough to save her. And I took him down and I took him down hard.

He walked with a limp until the day he was mercifully taken by the Lord, years later.
That was too good for him, but I was willing to have the Lord have his go at the guy, and chose not to take things into my own hands at that point.

I should not have taken 'half measures'.
I should have killed him outright the first time when I had the upper hand. And saved Lori the abuse.
But I didn't, and she suffered.

Now, tell me where I was wrong..................

To give here arshole ex the time of day, or should I have killed him on the spot?
Half measures..............one has to wonder.
