We're moving closer to completing the analysis of our 18 years of Arecibo data. Recent work has given us a good handle on RFI removal. See the Nebula blog for details.

Sometime there will be things beyond science also. We cannnot give explanation for each and evey things which is happening infront of us. I am from India our old generation people ( Sages) use to talk with God lively. Considering this point may be these people were able to have contact with other planet people and they were believing that this aliens only the God.
And important matter is all these sages never thought of science( or they dont have the immagination of science) and they all had their own method to get these contact and we call that thapasya and concentration. It may be a telepathy also. we are trying to reach alians with all availabe routes of science and why cont we try one of these route also? I think by yoga and deep dhyana and concentraion of tapasya can take us to the other planet alians or maybe to the God it self. Can anybody think about this?

Yes, yes, yes.

Always the brave question as well.

You may perhaps recall the interview by musical artist Vangelis, where he was asked that question.

Should tell that you probably know that I am quite open minded on the subject, but in fact did not initially catch the point of the question and in fact found it a bit
inappropriate as well.

If you happen to be an artist, like Pablo Picasso, you are not supposed to be an atheist at all, or dealing with possible cyclic structures in order for a given understanding.

But what is the possible alternative when it comes to such a thing?

Could it be the Janus face, or are we still left with that of Creation myth or the similar in order for a given understanding?

Make it that of technology and development if you will and for such a thing we are having both mobile phones and personal computers.

But the pyramids of Giza, Egypt, are some 5000-6000 years old.

There should be no such thing as that of any technology development when it comes to these things, but still we might think that they could be for a given purpose.

If so, this should not be about any numbers at all and therefore about possible science.

My friend, one does not have to be 'brave' to ask a question.
You don't get to be my age without asking a whole sh*tload of them.
Maybe even if it has been asked many times before by much 'smarter' men.
One only has to be intelligent to ask. Which means admitting that one does not know, and so inquires of his fellow travelers, 'What might you know about this?'

I ask many questions. Many have no answers as of this date.

But, I do not consider myself a fool for asking those questions.
A quest for knowledge you do not have makes you an intellect, not a fool.

Meow.

BL/GBT results
Cross-posting from the 'Free speech' thread, as it's more relevant here:

The software used for the analysis in these papers has been made available in a github repository1, along with associated documentation2.
1) is https://github.com/UCBerkeleySETI/turbo_seti, which leads to a 404 'page not found' error. https://github.com/UCBerkeleySETI/ exists, but doesn't appear to contain the analysis software cited. Looking for a webmaster contact address now...
The missing turbo_seti repository has now appeared on github.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but will we ever be given the option to process only Green Bank data? That seems to me slightly more relevant than Arecibo, though the likelihood of finding anything may be raised only from 10e-6 percent to 10e-5 percent, on a good day.

We're just reprocessing old Arecibo data with new/corrected algorithms to ensure that nothing is missed. Once this is completed (possibly in the order of months) there will be little or no more of it.

I never look at points, except when checking out new hardware, so I never have to worry about it.
