2 days ago i also got a warning from my Avast anti-virus program ; Boinc projects Seti and Einstein got infected files. Avast blocked the infection and placed it in the Vault. Avast reported : Infection Blocked Infection : VBS:Malware-gen User: Boinc_master Proces: /Applications/BOINCManager.app/Contents/Resources/boinc File: /Library/Application Support/BOINCData/slots/0/boinc_mmap_file AND also these files : /Library/Application Support/BOINCData/slots/0/boinc_setiathome_0 /Library/Application Support/BOINCData/slots/0/boinc_EinsteinHS_0 Need some help ! |

This sort of report is not uncommon, although I think it is the first time for a Mac... These are false positive reports. Frequently it is due to the low number of downloads BOINC has (compared to some other applications), or the behavior of BOINC when running, where it causes the download of other applications. The normal solution is to add the BOINC data directories to the AV software's directory "white list".
