Last night I read most of the book The Templar Mission to Oak Island and Beyond: Search for Ancient Secrets: The Shocking Revelations of a 12th Century Manuscript. (I still have a small bit left to read.)

I have to say my mind has been blown. If you have any interest in the subject I strongly recommend this book. Knights Templar in North America in the tenth century! And Welsh people already settled here! And Jewish people already settled here! It's amazing.

This book is about much more than any Oak Island treasure. Don't let the description(s) fool you.

Just finished an 8 book Urban Fantasy series that starts with "Rosemary and Rue" by Seanan McGuire
It combines Urban Fantasy, Romance, Private Investigator and "Blood Magic" so you can imagine how it is just a little gory :)
She kills off characters that you have gotten acquainted with. It is full of Mysteries. LBGQ friendly

Just picking up the "Fever series" by Karen Marie Moning. I had to wait on a hold for "Shadowfever".
This is Urban Fantasy, Romance and "the end of the world" (as we knew it). The starting novel is (I think) Darkfever.

I also really LIKE "The Afterward" by E.K. Johnson.
Consider. After the heroic quest... do you live happily ever after? Nah.... some of you don't. LBGQ friendly

These are all available as eBooks from my public library so you may be able to borrow them from yours. They come via a 3rd party contractor.

Well I've just finished my extensive, but not quite complete, Anne McCaffrey collection so I'll be back into my library to see which author will be next.

Cheers.

Ok I decided to hit upon Tad William's "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" series as I'm sick of books that only take me a day or 2 to get through. ;-)

Cheers.

Just finished another in JN Chaney's "Orion" series ("Orion Protected"). Prior to that, I read his most recent (Book #2) in "The Constable" series, "The Constable Returns". He has at least 3-4 series out now (the "Renegade", "Orion", "Reaper") with "The Constable" series being one of the 'back-stories' to one of the characters in his main series, "Renegade" - there's also another character's back-story, "Nameless".
Also read Ryk Brown's most recent entry (Book #12. "A Price Too High") in his "Frontiers Saga - Part 2" series (he's planned on 5 Parts, 15 books per Part).

Yeah, I'm a sci-fi fan.
Sometimes, I'll read a book cover-to-cover in one sitting, other times, it'll take me several days, it just depends on the book.
e-books are the way I read, otherwise I wouldn't have room for all of them in this small apartment, even paperbacks.

Just finished "The Last Jedi" by what's his name (not George Lucas :)

Just think. As life in a galaxy far, far away gets more told about, the theology behind the force and the actions/motives of the characters in the foreground get more and more complicated.

You could try one of those 1,000-page Russian Novelists... say "War and Peace" :)

I remember now why I don't read these tombs very often, it's heavy going as my arms tire very quickly holding the huge things, but I am halfway through the 1st book now. The 2nd tomb will be even worse as it's a hard cover job, but at least the book 3 version that I have is broken down into 2 paperbacks (though they are still huge themselves).

Cheers.

I started to read War and Peace many years ago. Didn't finished it.
But then I read The Lord of the Rings that is 1178 pages... Depending of paperback or hardback of course.
And what language...
The Fellowship of the Ring has 177,227 words; The Two Towers has a modest 143,436 words; and The Return of the King an even trimmer 134,462 words.

Trust me, The Lord of the Rings trilogy has nothing on these tombs I'm reading ATM (I have all of Tolkien's works here too). ;-)

Stephen King's Under the Dome is pretty long, if you're looking for long books to read. I haven't read it, but I own a copy. I was going to read it and then someone produced a TV show based on the book. That had the affect of moving the book to (near) the bottom of my reading list.

I've finally started "reading" Dave Barry's Lessons from Lucy. (Actually listening to it using CDs.) Not as funny as Dave's other stuff, but this isn't really like Dave's other stuff. In fact, people have been calling it a "self-help" book and putting in the self-help section of the bookstores.
