I had the same issue with a AMD HD7750 on Linux Mint 17.2 => https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=78896
I upgraded to LM 18.1 (Ubuntu 16.04) and I installed Boinc. Everything works - but sometimes (let's say every 4th to 5th boot) the Manager doesn't recognize the GPU.

I added Boinc to the "StartUp Applications Preferences". Could that be the problem? I added a delay of 15 seconds. Should I set it to 60 seconds or so?

Like I said: it's not a general problem. It works fine 3 to 4 boot ups.

Anyone else having this problem?

Thank you

Try driver change, or test with other BOINC versions

Didn't help. I'm using the latest one from Synaptic Package Manager (nvidia-367 - 367.57-0ubuntu0.16.0). Nothing else worked that good like this one.
