By using the "On multiprocessor system, use at most" set to 50% for that system to make up for all GPU work (both Cuda and OpenCL) using a setting of 0.146 cores instead of a full core. . Tom, Put your "use at most" back to 100% When you put it at 50%, you are telling the computer it can and will only have access to half of available cores. Meanwhile, the programs will still attempt to run as many work units as you have specified in your different app_config.xml. Example, you have an 8 core(either 4 physical and 4 virtual or 8 physical and no virtual) You tell the computer it can "use at most" 50% or 4 cores of either type of CPU chip Your app_config.xml for all your projects total 8 combined cores. 8 work units will attempt to run. If a work unit uses only 40% of a core, that means 60% is free for another work units. So those 2 work units will "share" that core up to 100% of 1 core. So you can see here that if each work unit only uses a portion, then another work unit will try to use those unused %, ie running to the max you have allowed. When Wiggo is talking about setting 0.146 cores, he is describing a limitation of what you would want in your app_config.xml. That only works on the old Cuda 50 and cuda 42 some people still run and of course Petri special app which is not yet ready for generalized public use. That leaves only SoG. SoG unfortunately will not follow such a value unless you use a commandline to decrease that usage. -use_sleep Of course all of this is strictly Seti@home related. I can make no comments on how other projects use your resources.... |

For the first time my Pc reached 30K RAC. Not bad for single GPU machine. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

For the first time my Pc reached 30K RAC. Good going Mike. :-) I'm back at the 120K RAC mark again. Cheers. |

For the first time my Pc reached 30K RAC. . . Yep, single GPU rigs can be quite productive ... http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8222433 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8012534 Stephen :) |

Both my dual 1060 i5 rigs' RAC's are doing very well ATM, the 3570K with 47.3K and the 2500K with 46.4K, and with the help of my wintertime space heaters, the Athlon 630 w/ dual 660's with 23.1K and an E6300 w/ 550 Ti with 7.1K I've been having the occasional knock at the front door of a 124K RAC a few times this morning. I am quite surprised by the little E6300 rig, but it comes offline by the end of this month and the Athlon 630 rig will do the same by the end of the September (weather permitting). Cheers. |

My 2 dual 1060 rigs are now very close in RAC to what they were getting when they were on an all Arecibo diet (3570K - 48.2K and 2500K - 47.2K) and I'm currently sitting at a total RAC of 126K. Cheers. |

My E6300 has crunched its last w/u under Windows and will be taking a break for a while. Cheers. |

With the weather warming up here finally, in the highlands down under, I'm in the process of decommissioning my Athlon rig again as the winter heating is fast becoming no longer required (it should take about 8 days to clear it's CPU just running of a night now, GPU work will continue for about 5-6 of those I expect my RAC with just my 2 main rigs running to drop down to around the 88-90K mark. Cheers. |
