Is this guy for real?

""The day will come when the British will re-enter the boat, I hope," he said following an EU summit.

Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage said: "The ship will have sunk by then.""

Love it :-)

Jean-Claude Juncker is real.
Who voted for him?
Is it even possible to vote for MUPS, eh sorry MEPS?

He was installed by the Oppressive EU Establishment.
janne...
For the sake of your freedoms. He must be replaced by a person who will fight, and possibly defeat the Oppressive EU Establishment.
Please make sure it is not a Trump Type.

The Oppressive EU Establishment?
The problem is that Germany, Luxemburg and Brussels have too many votes when selecting leaders of the European "Union".
It's like the US Electoral Collage on steroids.

Clyde for someone with your wealth of knowledge & experience, the fact that you do not participate on any other board on this forum, or create your own threads to initiate debate, instead infect others says much.

Can understand it though. All those years having a "semblance" of control & power can go to one's head.

The problem as seen by many in your position, is that retirement is the pits.

You can do nothing about the way matters are heading & that hurts doesn't it.

It actually makes sense. At the moment there is virtually no border between the north and south, including agreements on things like abortion issues, where Northern Ireland also bans abortions and is out of step with the rest of UK. If and when Brexit occurs the border controls will presumably have to be put back in place. I don't think they will allow an open border between the EU and the UK after Brexit. But closing it will cause havoc for lots of businesses and people.
Therefore it makes sense politically and for the local economy, for there to be a United Ireland. And let Dublin sort out the problems of dealing with the protestant minority.

The number of Brits applying for Swedish citizenship increased threefold last year!
In mid-December the Migration Agency said that around half of those who had applied after the Brexit vote on June 23rd had been accepted, while the other half were still waiting to hear back.

I hope they are not rapists.
Nigel Farage is under investigation by the broadcasting watchdog Ofcom over a claim made on his radio show that Sweden is "the rape capital of Europe".

Article 50 is finally signed.

As for the "divorce" settlement being asked for, I suggest we agree pay it :-)

Then hit them with a demand for 50% of their assets for which we take 50% of income provide by those assets annually.

That's how divorces work right :-)

The "divorce" settlement?
Now wait two years - at least - of uncertainty and tough negotiations between London and Brussels.

One question that is not resolved is what will happen to the 3 million Europeans that live and work in Britain and the 1 million Brits that live and work in other EU countries.

WHY? It wasn't an issue while it was the EEC, so why one now?

Really?
How was the free movement in the EEC?
EU citizens are entitled to:
look for a job in another EU country
work there without needing a work permit
    reside there for that purpose
stay there even after employment has finished
enjoy equal treatment with nationals in access to employment, working conditions and all other social and tax advantages

Message 1858272 - Posted: 29 Mar 2017, 14:58:49 UTC - in response to Message 1858268.

Prior to the start of World War I in 1914, there were virtually no border controls or restrictions to labor mobility across the continent. During the war, however, the crossing of borders by foreigners began to be considered a security concern, and it was at this time that passports and visas were introduced in Europe.

Then in the 1950s, when Europe was beginning to recover from the devastation of World War II and experiencing a period of intense economic growth, labour mobility was again encouraged. Because the lack of skilled workers was seen as a threat to the economy, freedom of movement of qualified industrial workers was included in the treaties founding the European Economic Community (EEC), the predecessor of the current European Union, in 1957.

Over 8 million work permits were issued to foreigners in Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and West Germany (the original six members of the EEC) during the guest-worker period of 1958 to 1972. One-third of the foreign workers came from within the EEC; mainly from Italy, which was lagging behind in industrialization and suffered from high unemployment.

Workers were recruited through bilateral agreements from outside of Europe as well, especially to work in dirty, dangerous, and dull — the so-called 3D — jobs in the building, mining, and transportation sectors. Significant numbers of guest workers, for example, migrated from Turkey to Germany, from Algeria to France, and from the British Commonwealth countries to Britain.

Absolutely because if you don't in two years they simply extract it from you anyway.
