Meow. I am back, Ready to rock. As you can see by my stats, the kitties have been rocking whilst I was on walkabout. Sure you can handle it? Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Hi ya :) I've alleged I'm making a very important phone call, Mark, so I hope you don't mind if I listen to your link later? :) It gets quite awkward otherwise... |

I just wish to document one other American's voice on the matter. 'His death, kills something in me.' And so it killed something in many of us. Innocence was destroyed in an instant. Might be a different script than the one I see at the moment. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Oh yeah. Sanity has again prevailed. The kitties are back. Meowing again. Just a little softer this time. {meow} And maybe a little less cocky. Ya think? "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Well..... Off soon to work 5 hours of OT today. Not too bad, 5 hours goes by pretty quickly when you are used to 11 hour shifts. And on Fridays, we are allowed to play music whilst we work. And y'all know how I like my tunes! So, I pack up my Kilburn and iPod and it does make the time a bit more enjoyable. AND........ Work announced a new policy this week. As of today, if you are 60yo or older, you no longer have to work anything beyond a standard 40 hour workweek. This will happen for me this coming January 18th, when I have my 60th birthday. Any overtime for me beyond that point will be if and when I desire to put in the extra time. Quite a good feeling! I am sure that I shall put in some extra hours for the extra pay. But it is quite a burden lifted knowing that I can control how much and when I am willing to do so. Meowsmile! "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Well.... Work went well today. Had a somewhat challenging job to work on. Sometimes what the engineers envision on their computers in the design stage does not 'quite' hit the mark when put into production. The pieces are manufactured and when we get to the assembly stage there are occasions when more than one piece tries to occupy the same point in the time space continuum. So I spent all afternoon modifying and hand building half a dozen pieces so that they would all play nice together when assembling the back end of the truck I was working on. We do have an extensive machine shop available to us on the assembly floor. A huge shear, notcher, drill presses, bending brakes, grinders, buffers, welders, plasma cutters, pipe threaders and benders. Not all of which I am personally qualified to operate....LOL. As the shop foreman that hired me told me at the time...."There is not much that you can break that we cannot fix." My tunes kept me company, and eventually I did coax all the pieces into a happy state, and was able to complete the work. That's why we get paid what we do for our experience and expertise and sometimes improvisational skills. In the end, the customer gets what they desire and need to support them in their business of saving lives. And that is what building custom fire trucks is all about. I also took the time, being Veteran's Day, to personally walk around the shop and give a firm handshake and a 'Thank You' to all of the veterans in the shop that I knew of. We have many, as those in the service often come out of it with top notch skills they attained in their service of this country. A few were actually surprised that I took the time to do so, and one gentleman actually got a little choked up. Because he said that nobody else had given him the recognition. And that is what Veteran's Day is all about. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

And that is what Veteran's Day is all about. Nice try, but I believe that song is more about simple American pride than veterans. Try this one...... And we shall persevere. This said by perhaps the last best president we had. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

And that is what Veteran's Day is all about. OK. I stand corrected. |

And that is what Veteran's Day is all about. No worries. I know where your heart was. The point is this. This nation has suffered from a lack of true leadership since JFK was cut down in Dallas. Since then, warring political factions have tried to duke it out with each other for leadership. None of which has emerged. And has left the American public wandering without such leadership for many years now. I believe that we have just narrowly avoided national demise by electing just such a leader. He is somewhat misunderstood at times, but I think he has the power and the chutzpa to lead the nation to greatness again. That was his campaign slogan. Make America Great Again. And as I have said, along with my trust in his slogan, I do expect results as well. I fully expect Trump to make good on his promises. It shall be difficult at best, but I expect the man we elected on those promises to fulfill them. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |
