Since I upgraded to Sierra twenty days ago my daily average has dropped from 4,500 to below 1200. Has someone else experienced the same problem? Jean Pierre |

August 9 was your last GPU validated task, Sept 3 was the last GPU returned work unit. Between those 2 dates, all your GPU work units are either pending validation or inconclusive. So the only credit you are receiving currently are for you CPU work units. You say you updated your OS? What does your start up log show when you launch boinc manager? What does it say about your GPU? I'm thinking it might not be showing a GPU or you might need to update a driver ![]() ![]() |

Well, due to problems with the current SETI nVidia OpenCL Apps and OSX there has been a ban on Hosts running Darwin 15.0 (El Capitan) and above. The Ban went into effect around Sept 6th. There are nVidia CUDA Apps at Beta that work with El Capitan & Sierra but very few Macs have bothered to do any testing. To test the CUDA Apps you must install the CUDA Driver. If you wish to see OSX nVidia Apps that work with El Capitan & Sierra you may want to install the latest CUDA driver and sign up at Beta, CUDA driver update to support macOS 10.12 |

Thank you for your answer, I will check the log and the GPU |

Thank you Indeed I check the log and no work was downloaded for the GPU for a long time. I have just installed the new driver for MacOS 10.12. and I will let you know the results. Thank you again to both of you. jean-pierre |

I'm afraid there still isn't any increase in Mac Testers at Beta. You can see how many Macs are involved in the following links. For the CUDA 75 App there are only 5 besides myself and Jason Gee. For the CUDA 42 App there is only One, that being My Mac which is the machine that compiled the App. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/setiathome_v8_x86_64-apple-darwin__cuda75_mac.html http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/setiathome_v8_x86_64-apple-darwin__cuda42_mac.html It might be some time before you see any Mac nVidia Apps on Main that work with El Capitan and Sierra. |

...in the following links. Somewhat off topic, but if I wanted to look at Android x86_64 hosts (like my host 79482 on Beta), what would the link be? ![]() ![]() |

You should be able to just plug in the App name. In this case the App named - setiathome_8.10_x86_64-apple-darwin__opencl_nvidia_mac becomes; http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/setiathome_v8_x86_64-apple-darwin__opencl_nvidia_mac.html So, for the OpenCL App there were 24 testers. This seems to work, http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/setiathome_v8_x86-android-linux-gnu.html |

http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/setiathome_v8_x86-android-linux-gnu.html If I'm reading this right... There are 12 machines that use an Android OS AND an Intel (64 bit) CPU. (Not ARM). Compared to to the 7 Mac "video card" entries.... EDIT: (That I saw; could be misreading the links.) ![]() ![]() |

Thank you Indeed I check the log and no work was downloaded for the GPU for a long time. I believe I've found your machine at Beta, however, you don't have the CUDA Driver installed. Hence, you will only be assigned CPU tasks. The machine is listed as; NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M (512MB) OpenCL: 1.2 If you had the CUDA driver installed it would be; NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M (512MB) driver: 5243.34 OpenCL: 1.2 Once you install the driver the first time you can update it by going to System Preferences/CUDA, but, you have to install it manually the first time, http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-cuda-8.0.46-driver.html Happy Crunching |

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M (4095MB) driver: 5243.34 OpenCL: 1.2 That machine is working well at Beta. So far all the CUDA tasks have validated on the first try. It would be nice to see a few more of those running over there ;-) For those unfamiliar with installing the driver, the instructions are listed in the Additional information Tab; 1) Double-click on CUDADriver-8.0.46-macos.dmg 2) Click Continue on the CUDA 8.0 Installer Welcome screen 3) Click Continue after you read the License Agreement and then click Agree 4) Click Install on the Standard Install Screen. You will be required to enter an Administrator password 5) Once you see the Successful Installation screen, your install is complete. No restart is required |

Yes, the two machines you have would work fine at Beta. You should head on over and sign up. The Apps you are currently using on Main are the older Apps that still have the BOINC API 'Bug'. The problem was discovered when the Apps went to Beta and it was found the CUDA Codebase was missing an Old change to the API. The Apps currently at Crunchers Anonymous, and Beta, have the BOINC API Update. You might want to change to the Newer Apps. The Older Apps have this line in the stderr.txt; setiathome enhanced x41zi (baseline v8) Compiled by TBar, Cuda X.xx The Newer Updated Apps just have; setiathome enhanced x41zi (baseline v8), Cuda X.xx I would run the newer driver on both machines. The driver covers Darwin 15.x and 16.0. There will probably be another driver update when Darwin 16.1 is released. |

When I create a account, I get a error from the site: Fatal error: Call to undefined function recaptcha_get_head_extra() in /disks/carolyn/b/home/boincadm/projects/beta/html/user/create_account_form.php on line 41 |

Did you modify the URL as described above? Site is this: It sounds the same as in this post, [edit]...I went in through "Add Projects" by modifying the URL for the Seti@Home option in the list to the Beta url. This time it worked. |
