I'm not saying don't buy the cable, but in the mean time your bills aren't being paid and you have a phone that you could try to use. |

Then your reimbursement is being delayed due to a cable that you haven't received yet but if you were able to produce a readable scan with your phone, you could reduce that delay. |

Vic, no need to be rude to those that are trying to help you get the money that is due to you. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Ok I got back from the Urologist today, seems I need surgery, I have a blockage in between My kidneys & My bladder, which sometimes bleeds and causes painful urination, the masses in the kidneys are just benign cysts, I'm waiting for a call to do out patient surgery on the obstruction that's at the top of My bladder, for now I wait. Glad to hear they are benign. Hope your surgery goes well and solves the problem painlessly and quickly. ![]() |

I can say from experience that my phone is not capable of taking a photo of a document likely to be good enough to be useful for Vic's purpose. I doubt his phone is either. If Vic said it that way, he would come off a lot less rude. OTOH*, Vic does tend to refuse to even consider other people's suggestions. As for worn out USB cables, I usually have a spare or two lying around... somewhere... from all the various things I've bought over the years and no longer use. *Or maybe it's not the other hand; I'm not sure. That's one of the really heavy duty antibiotic. It's being used as a quick hit to clear out the urinary tract ahead of surgery. You may get another course after the surgery. This sort of operation is quite often a simple "up the tube" job, with a few hours resting and make sure you aren't bleeding too much, so day ward or out patients is quite appropriate. Most hospitals will have a few over-night beds available to cover for complications. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Happy to hear that the growths were benign, Vic. That must be a load off of your mind. Hope the surgery is a 'minor' at it's outpatient status seems to indicate and there are no complications. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to you. Meow! "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

I've had it done twice, first time was in the days when they kept you in for two days afterwards then had a week off work to get over it all. The second time I was first on the list in the morning, out of theatre by 9am, and out of hospital with a bag of pills at about 4pm. I was told not to drive for 48 hours after release as I "might suffer some discomfort". Yeh right, "some discomfort" equated to someone ramming a red hot needle up my exhaust pipe the next day, which lasted for a few hours, but wore off as I drank more WATER and popped the antibiotics I'd been given. The combination of "pills and p***ing" got on top of the pain quite rapidly, and after another day I enjoyed the weekend. 21 year-old Jane Park is suing the lottery, because she claims winning it ruined her life. I hope she loses it all in legal fees and ends up broke. What an idiot. EDIT- And if you read this more detailed article on her, it would appear she's more of an idiot than I initially thought. Britain’s youngest Euromillions winner drops plans to sue lottery bosses for ‘ruining her life' She said It was a ridiculous amount to have at such a young age with no guidance... The lottery company said A spokesperson for Camelot told The Independent: “Camelot takes its duty of care to winners very seriously and all major winners are offered support and advice for as long as they wish. That support is tailored to each winner’s situation and circumstances – and for younger winners, their age will obviously be an important factor in the advice and support offered... An independent financial and legal panel was set up shortly after her win and we put Jane in touch with another winner who won at the same age, to share their experience and help Jane adjust to the win. Geez. If I won the lottery, I would have no problem with it whatsoever. Gimme a break. There is an old song that says........"I'd love to change the world, but I don't know what to do. So, I'll leave it up to you." I know what I would do. Kitty causes around the world would benefit. I know my friend in England would anticipate some help with HIS best loves. And they are too many to number, like the kitties they try to help. My favorite local shelter would at least quadruple in size and staff. Maybe seventuple. They would not know what hit them. The kitties involved would. I would immediately contact Jackson Galaxy.....we need to talk, buddy. I would not wish to become a celebrity. I would try to stay in hiding, although, LOL, impossible at that point. Larger cages, more room to move and play. And kitty therapists. There must be kitty therapists. One for each kitty, who would learn that individual kitty's needs and help them along their way. And get them adopted into a proper forever home. And a large outdoor cat sanctuary, although it would be hard to match those that have climates which allow year round outdoor cat activities. I would probably acquire a very large tract of land.......and move the Fox Valley Humane Society to a very large and built to order home. One which would have a very large fenced in roaming land for the kitties. Ala the Cat House on the Kings. Heated catios would certainly be in the scope of things. And I would not totally ignore the doggins, although they are not my priority at all. They would be taken care of. And the Seti project would get all the funding they need to disregard monetary limits and pursue more actively the scientific aspects. I am sure Eric has some ideas that he should like to explore if only the funds were available for him to exercise them. If I suddenly became a millionaire, I can honestly say that I do not believe I would move out of my house. This has been my home since 1980, and I am very comfortable here. It is my 'man cave', my sanctuary. My home. My cats' home. I would also, if I can say this without offending some, bequeath some substantial sums to the local Catholic churches. Not one of which I have attended for years. But I would, having the time available, be able to go to those in charge of them and have some frank discussions of what they would do should I support them. And mostly, I should expect that they would simply ask for building maintenance and some funds to continue their support of their congregation. I am not one to give all of my money to the church. It's always an interesting question, and not one that some could answer without a doubt. But I have no doubts...........I know exactly what direction I would take. And it would make news worldwide. Meow, what a dream. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Computer crashes may be due to forces beyond our solar system The culprit could be cosmic rays When your computer crashes or phone freezes, don't be so quick to blame the manufacturer. Cosmic rays -- or rather the electrically charged particles they generate -- may be your real foe. |

Computer crashes may be due to forces beyond our solar system I didn't know windoze ran on 99.99% of computers? In any case it has been known for a long time radiation can alter bits of memory devices. As we make memory devices smaller and smaller and cramming more and more information in the same volume, the frequency of bits being changed by radiation will become larger. ![]() |
